One of my favourite feature in Final Fantasy XIV is kind of… unintentional. It’s called Out of Bounds, and allows you to see secret spots from maps you normally can’t see.
It’s a lot of fun! But SquareEnix patches it very frequently.

EDIT: For clarification, I don't blame SquareEnix for patching things out, I understand it 😛 I just share a bit of sadness regarding it though!
I hope it was interesting at least because seeing some comments makes me sad 🙁
Huge props to Runic XIV for teaching people how to do many Out of Bounds, 7 years ago!
Its called out of bounds for a reason XD i do think they are in the right for removing it. Even if it removes fun. WE ARE NOT ALLOWED TO GO THERE. Gotta side with the company on this one.
Out of bounds are my favorite!
I dare you to like this comment 👍
Hi! The circular area at 0:47, where is that? I don't recognize it at all.
Actually, going out of bounds CAN be detrimental in some games. It can quite literally break gaming code and cause servers to crash or server data to become corrupted. A number of factors come into play from the efficiency of the code itself, how efficiently the code is executed and various ins and out of the game engine. This doesn't mean it WILL cause issues however, only that technically it CAN. I speak as an experienced developer on Unreal Engine 3, 4 and 5 as well as CryEngine 3 and 4. Even if it doesn't cause issues at the current moment best to just patch it out to prevent possible game/server issues as well as exploitation of game mechanics.
Thumbs down for crating an ob video and not showing us how to do it
It'd be nice for Square to make these out of bounds areas actual areas you can go to get some nice views
