Shadowbringers 5.0 Ending Reaction – FFXIV

Hello, Adventurers! While my last two videos were centered on my playthrough of Endwalker, I thought it was important to showcase my Shadowbringers reaction before I got ahead of myself! Much of my love from Endwalker stems from Shadowbringers, as I’m sure most of you will agree with. Hope you enjoy and can’t wait to here from you in the comments!

  1. Welcome to the Emotional Family <3
My most heartbreaking moment was probably the duel between Thancred and Ran'jiit, the struggle is so real it makes me cry every time ;'(
Second place would probably be between Ardbert and Elidibus !

  2. Glad you enjoyed the MSQ – its a wonderful experience.

Shadowbringers is still my favorite expansion from FFXIV – it had me laughing and crying. Personally, overall, one of my favorite scenes are those after the counter attack from Eulmore at The Ostall Imperative and you had those heartbreaking scenes with Ardbert and not being able to help the people from a Sineater attacks and Lyne's heartbreaking response to the aftermath of the fight.

  3. The ShB theme kicking in when he lowers the axe to you, rejoining a lost piece of your soul to the whole, chills every time
Genuinely one of the hypest fucking moments I’ve ever felt in my history playing video games

  4. Fun fact: When 5.0 launched, the third option when you're talking to G'raha Tia was locked behind those who actually completed Crystal Tower. If you didn't complete it before the requirement change in 5.3, it wouldn't be available as well as a lot of special dialogue.

  5. It's always the best seeing someone super invested in the story and characters experience ShB for the first time, and half the time it makes me start tearing up all over again too lol. Idk how recent this footage is and how far you are in the story by now but if you aren't caught up yet enjoy Endwalker! ♥😁

  6. I understand how sad it was to kill Emet. When I first played through, I was full on sobbing my eyes out when he said "remember us". I could barely breathe during that cutscene.
    It was just so heartbreaking to win when I knew just how beautiful Amaurot was… How beautiful the past must've been ;w;

  7. I have watched dozens of reactions of this sequence, after doing it myself originally. Isn't it just..perfectly done? It's a wonderfully crafted cinematic that if allowed to autoplay just..works so well with the music. God, I love it. Congrats on hitting this part – and enjoy everything else to come 😉

  8. I remember Shadowbringers being a story that always told me "you're not alone" and by the end, I just wanted Fluffy to hug Emet and say "it's okay. We'll take care of this world for you. You can rest now. You don't have to do this alone." I cried like a BABY

  9. It became a hobby of mine to watch people reacting to this. Always enjoy these rections of 3.0, 5.0, 5.3 and many Endwalker moments.
You have tons of great moments ahead of you, Endwalker is truly a masterpiece. Have fun 😉

  10. The beauty of 5.0 last hours and final cutscenes are the things ”you didn't pick, but your brain did”.
Also what always strucked me was how sad Emet looked during Alisaie little speech.

  11. TBH i had a different reaction when i got Amarout, the city layout and design, reminder me of a city in Lightning Return, ahahaha i was more surprise about that than anything else.

  12. "Why am I sad?"

Yeah, because "evil" bosses here are not inherently evil, they all have a purpose, and you might have done the same as they did if you were in their shoes.

  13. Yes, we hate Emet Selch and what he did as an Ascian, but after Shadowbringers, we understand why he did it and we can't completely fault him for wanting to bring his people, especially his friends, back.

The height of storytelling is being able to make an antagonist that people hate but are also sympathetic to. Spiderman did it with Doc Oct and FFXIV did it with Emet Selch, and some others that you'll find out about later.
