  1. I like to pick up my mouse and use it to click my keybinds.

I have a mechanical keyboard so it’s really fun to slam my mouse onto my limit break keybind! It’s like I manually bring forth the meteor from the high heavens! (The only con to this strategy is having to find the keys that get dislodged and putting them back into the keyboard while dodging mechanics).

  2. I started clicking in WoW but discovered the 16 easily accessible keybinds (not including shift modifiers) right at my finger tips. Feels weird to just not move your left hand at all other than to WASD.

  3. I was almost sold to train KBs seriously, until that last Haru' clip got me convinced to keep clicking. Pressing just one button beats memorizing 36 of them. Smoothbrains = smooth operators 😀

  4. I click a bit. First hotbar ( 1 through = ) is filled with my most common spells/abilities, second hotbar ( Ctrl-1 through Ctrl-= ) I put my cooldowns on and click those. Have a third action bar on the very right for any spells/abilities that won't fit on the first two action bars.

Also, 'gotta move around' made me think of all the Black Mage mains who likely asked 'moving around during combat? What's that?'

  5. So, I have small hands. I cannot keybind on keyboard normally because I cannot reach the keys. So, with that said, let me tell you what I did to fix the problem.

    1. I bought a Orbweaver. I only use the bottom 2 rows of keys. My index finger and my ring finger were movement keybinds. My middle finger was for jump. My pinky was for SHIFT and my middle finger up 1 row was for CTRL. I also had a thumb button that activated ALT. All of this was with my left hand.

    2. My right hand controlled my mouse. I use a 12 button mouse and when I activate my SHIFT/CTRL/ALT keybinds that gives me a total of 48 buttons. I shift click 1-8 on my mouse for party members and the rest 1-12 ALT 1-12, CTRL 1-12, and SHIFT 9-12 are my abilities and/or out of combat actions.

This setup allows me to keep all of my fingers in a more than comfortable range without having to over stretch or to play uncomfortably. The only thing that took some getting used to was using my thumb so much.

My thumb on my mouse hand is the only thing that I use to activate my abilities. EVERYTHING is done by the command of that thumb. But, once I got the endurance built up, it’s actually really easy and I can’t believe I never played this way before now. I will never go back to OG mouse/keyboard.

Oh and I also play on controller occasionally as well.

  6. I'm like a hybrid. Like I'll bind pretty much all my abilities but for things I need to press rarely I'll click em. Like tank stance. I don't need to bind tank stance to press it once every 5 minutes to tank swap

  7. I think clicking is ok if you need to hit a couple out of the way instant cast, no global cooldown dps skills. Clicking ALL of your skills is absolutely wild though. Any skills you can comfortably and casually use the keyboard for is a good thing

  8. I don't have a mouse with many buttons, so I bound Ctrl and Shift to my two thumb buttons and use the 1-5 numbers on the number row.

Clicking things like changing the Egi or Resurrect when playing summoner… or things I don't know how to use. Haha

  9. Keybinding is really hard for people with SHORT fingers. You can have thick or thin fingers but I have kid hands and can barely reach 4 on my keyboard while trying to hit shift. The few times I’ve tried keybinding I spent more time looking at my hands than screen 🥲

Just don’t be a clicker who plays in standard. I played the entire game as that on summoner and failed to realize I was playing on hard mode for no reason 😌

  10. lol I half click half use keyboard, don't ask me why no idea. Now say a moba or even Guild Wars 2 where you only primarily have 4-6 attacks I don't click but WoW and some wow clones, ff14 I mostly click but keyboard certain things.games like neverwinter where you only can move wasd i have to click or it feels complicated. I think my clicking speed is fine though not that i'm ever trying to be mr. top dps but I don't feel I've ever been told I hinder groups lol

  11. I started as a clicker, but after lvl 60 I spent about 1-2 hours to create keybinds + HUD to make my spell casting more efficient… Bruh… I can't believe I was a clicker… Don't be stupid, don't be clickers.

  12. I am a clicker in FFXIV, but mine is mostly because of my fibromyalgia as well as my brain just not being able to comprehend my right hand (I'm a lefty) doing things correctly. I tried all kinds of keybinds, and it just hurt my hands as well as 404'd me for a while, but with clicking, it's just easier for me. I respect those that keybind, you're all gods to me (my fiancé even tried to help me with keybinds, since she uses them mostly, but after days of trying, she gave up). I never really have a problem with mechanics – unless I get a loading wheel moment and just can't comprehend what is going on. Clicking though isn't too bad if you lock your hotbars. Always make sure they're locked unless you're moving your actions around.

I also clicked when I used to play WoW (was a Prot Warrior), and I did alright in PVP.

I can see why people who keybind think that clicking is harder, but honestly, imo, I think keybinds are harder. Just goes to show what people think individually, really. But hey, as long as people are having fun, that's all that matters, right?
