I know some prefer that I read out loud what the dragon says. I already recorded this video before I released the previous video so I didn’t do it here. But I will next time I come in contact with a dragon, if that will even happen again ;p
In this series, I follow the main quest storyline of FFXIV for the first time. This is a playthrough series, so there’s a lot of content yet to come…

it was mentioned several times that haurchefant is lord fortemps bastard son. fortemps wife hated him and the eldest son took over her stance. that lead to him being pretty unfriendly towards you who came through haurchefant to ishgard
26:30 I love how everyone is like "welp Aymeric's boutta get clapped in irons, let's get ready to go save his ass", like they're gonna support him but they're pragmatic enough to plan ahead instead of waiting to find out what happened and being like oh noes!! who could have foreseen this!!?
So much disilussionment for Ysale here. She thought she had found out the truth that the dragons were blameless and the Ishgardians were evil. Instead she has to face that the situation is complex. The initial wrong was on the part of Thordan the first, but the dragons, even Hraesvelgar, were perfectly willing to see innocent people who were ignorant of that crime suffer and die for Thordan's sins for over a thousand years.
When I saw your ranking of characters, I thought your negative opinion of Lucia would be short lived.
Regarding Hraesvelgr's position. Hearing you gave me extra thought on this.
It is actually quite natural for people to behave like this. And I would say – scarily realistic. People caught in war, even those who abhor it or try to stay away from it, generally shed feeling of "There are good people there too" when enemy hurts their family, friends or beloved ones.
While logically your point is valid, I can say that for Hraesvelgr's position – humans have killed his sister and now also his brother. He himself isn't fully removed from the war either – he volunteered to help his brother in a way that won't let him himself kill humans (remembering his relationship with Shiva, Hraesvelgr most likely is more pacifistic dragon) but he still counts as a valid member of the war effort, figuratively speaking.
Saying this from a point of view of a person who lives in a country with active war. There is little love that we share towards aggressors and our people are happy to see if they have destruction on their land.
It is very good moment to see how game shows Bishop having apparently his own agenda, and you don't know who to believe.
The most unrealistic point IMO is Ysale's plea actually making it to the people. Normally I believe people won't stop that easily.
And I love the fact that it was Haurchefant who stopped knights from keeping on attacking heretics.
Haurchefant it Count's illegitimate son as he was born as result of Count's side affair, unlike Artoirel and Emmanelein. Still, Count did his best to acknowledge Haurchefant as his son at least, which, let's be real here, quite rare for people like that – Hilda's situation is way more common in the Ishgard. However illegitimacy means that Haurchefant has no rights to continuing bloodline and would not be recognised as next Count de Fortemps hence he doesn't bear family name and named as Haurchefant Greystone.
I do believe that ranking would have to wait until the end of the Heavensward/beginning of Stormblood. There is way more of these characters that it would be just fair.
hi mayrake!
i just wanted to let u know that when you queue for a duty (dungeon/trial/raid), it can help out a lot to use the Party Finder system.
if you let them know its your first time, people from PF are generally way more friendly and willing to stop and let cutscenes play, let you explore the dungeon, etc, than people just running through their daily roulettes.
just something to keep in mind! whilst its uncommon, you do get groups from time to time that arent ideal.
