Sage's Stacking Double DoT REMOVED! [FFXIV 7.0 Dawntrail]

Sage no longer can stack Eukrasian Dosis and Eukrasian Dyskrasia anymore in FFXIV Patch 7.0 Dawntrail and this healer interaction being removed feels really bad to see. I’d cast something more on the global cooldown and have a little bit of differentiation in healer damage gameplay since it makes up the overwhelming majority of our casts.

  2. Losing the stackable DoTs before DT launch hurts, but that alone is not the reason why I don’t like SGE.

The main thing that’s pushing me away is the Addersting / Toxikon mechanic. It just feels bad, having a cool looking move locked behind a GCD heal when the job’s strong oGCD heals cover its barrier / instant healing better.

It’s hard for me to describe, but SGE just doesn’t feel all that great. I like WHM’s approach better.

  3. You know…I was a Healer since ARR…and when HW came, they took cleric stance away because ppl were complaining about that they don't play healer to make damage….
And this discussion went further and further…..and the result of it is:

    THIS!

And personally….I saw that coming from miles away!
Now Coincidence was here to help me in the form of Pictomancer.

I felt stuck in being a healer because there was no other Job that made me excited to play.
And healing….well…is healing in FF 😂
But the SECOND they revealed Pictomancer there was not a single millisecond of doubt that I finally gonna be able to break free from all of this.

I really hope they will be able to fix all of this!
    My advice:
Go back to the older FF days.
Give healer more Damageskills and let them play along with everyone else.

  4. If enough people did the strike then it would work.

Theoretically if enough people stopped playing healer then duty finder would stop functioning, party finder would stop functioning, and the multiplayer PvE portion of the game would die forcing them to either fix healers or allow the game to function without healers.

The funny thing is that a lot of the content in FF14 doesn't really need healers naturally but rather it's built to specifically have healer checks. Like in EverQuest for instance, healers were put in place to solve a problem. Damage needs to be unavoidable due to the nature of the infrastructure, how do we mitigate that? Add people who can heal unavoidable damage.

In FF14 it's the opposite, the job doesn't exist to fix the problem. It's the problem that exists to justify the existence of the job.

  5. I just told my static that I'm not playing Sage. I was so incredibly hyped to finally have something to do in non-savage content. Be it as little as having to keep up a second DoT.

  6. I can only hope they weren't just throwing around PR speak when they said that combat mechanics got overhauled so we actually have something to do other than 1 button spam most of the fights this expansion. It's not fun, it's so frustrating seeing people that don't even play healer, dismiss the strike, healers are frustrated for good reason, it's so boring in the majority of content in the game right now.

  7. Last few months of SCH in dungeons 70+, we're so far ahead of the gear score that I haven't needed excog or seraph. Dawn and Lustrate and Indom and Blessing are enough. Excog times out, overhealing, and Seraph would be a major overheal.
