Hi there! That very first bad review was a bit odd for me. That 3rd point actually made me wonder if he hadn't posted a review for another game, an Amazon one. In 10 hours how much Community did he get to know? I can't disagree that the begining of the game is slow and a bit boring however. One bad time in party finder? xD I'm biased sorry, i've been paying this game for 10 years. LoL Trump? I have never heard of this. >.>;; Weird. The gender issue, is not someting to be taken lightly. It matters to a lot of people. I agree with them choosing to not play the game for that reason, but I don't agree that it justifies leaving a bad review. Try contacting SquareEnix about it instead. It's the only way to lead into change. "I hate this game." – 8000+ hours on record. Yeah, that makes sense. >.>;; Yes, fetch quests suck. I cannot lie. But show me a top 10 MMORPG that doesn't have them. (please). Ah, the housing issue. I can't disagree that having to keep subbing just to keep the house, does suck. I never bought one myself, too expensive lol. I didn't buy FF14 on Steam. Probably a good idea in hindsight. 😀 Sorry for the long post, I had too much fun responding to each bad review lol. (I won't make a habit of it) Thank you for this video. See you again soon. 👍
Square Enix donated to BLM after the George Floyd incident. There are a lot of motives there that you may or may not agree with, but the topple Donald Trump thing is just crazy talk. It was clearly intended as a charitable gesture.
This game, like most games I've found, while is fun single player for sure, does end up being a lot more fun multiplayer. A buddy of mine who was level 90 in most classes when endwalker was the big hype making the queue a few thousand players long ended up talking me and another friend of ours into played the game. I'm not big on mmos like at all. but playing with them, even a realm reborn was really fun to do. now all be it true that sometimes you just kinda get burnt out as most do with most games, its really easy to get pulled back in to the game with friends. man it's just such a cool game to experience.
Actually, if you need to call customer support to recover your hacked account you will need valid identity. and save your security question somewhere. The story upto 6.0 is nothing groundbreaking. Great if it's your first RPG.
The first guy had no play time at all so what is he complaining about? There's a lot of ambient sounds. edit: correction 10 hours. But I agree. ARR is a bit boring.
About housing: it has been stated to be a technical constraint, from what I understand it deals with the 1.0 code kinda fucking it up, and thus when they actually add more data to the game(update, expansion drops), sometimes some housing plots come in too. This problem is also why houses will be demolished when you're not logged in for a certain amount of time, or even why there's a lottery system, since there's so few houses for such a high amount of concurrent players.
A lot of jank, limitations and bugs are due to 1.0, so I'm inclined to believe that. Though tbh, it is possible that it indeed is something to keep players in the game too, even if kinda stupid tbh. (Edit: It actually isn't possible, since house demolition came later after more people wanted houses than what was available when housing was introduced.)
Ive got ~4500 hours since last december and the only complaint i have is that completing old content is very difficult because no one wants to join in party finder. But other than that, best game ive ever played. I still log in and try to grind my animas.
The biggest gripe I have with this game is the Patch Cycles. The highs are high and the lows are low and most people leave during the lull in the cycle
ARR was so fun idk what he speaks of ; ; but then again I am a weirdo who enjoyed from "hear feel think" up to the end of ARR so much I did it many times over before I moved on and moved on I did with tears. (I thought endcredits was the end ok I thought nobody survived. Oh, oops, spoilers) also I don't remember needing to give out gender……….. to register? I mean yeah I needed to pick a gender to create character but you never know what my character truly pees with…….. right? Also the housing is not true. But tell me then, why would housin allow non-subbed/active players own a plot?? Better move on to somebody who is active ans uses it. FC? you can unsub, even as owner , as long as one of your members login enter the house, it's good. Houses are limited because of engine limitation which they been working on and still are ^.^
I assume that last guy was talking about the housing item storage, when house gets demolished you have a limited time to get your furnishings from an NPC if I am remembering correctly.
9:00 — If housing wasnt limited, he would be right. But it is… so he's a crybaby and totally wrong. Yes, you can complain that you have to stay subbed if you wish to keep your house, and that this contradicts Yoshi-Ps constant reminder of taking breaks, but please keep in mind: housing IS limited (for whatever reasons, doesnt matter here), and almost everyone wants to partake. We also know that appartments are no substitude. So its only fair if the devs demand that you actually USE your bloody house if you want to keep it! And since its digital goods and currency we're talking about here… guys, its nothing. Its less than air since air is actually useful (it allows us to breathe, remember?). Invest into digital goods or currency, doesnt mean you own it. Owner is and always will be the one operating the platform, in this case SE since they make FF14. So dont think, you "own" anything in this game or any other. The devs own everything, and we are only here for rent.
The gender thing actually cracks me up, because in my FC, most of the guys play women characters, and there are a couple women who play men. The only thing I can think is they were wanting to buy something, and it was gender locked, like several items are. Just tell them the gender you are in game, lol.
Reason One: So they know who they should address formally in E-mails, Mr/Mrs/etc.
Reason Two: Data collection for surveys, i.e X number of Males/Females/Other in public released and/or private company review logs on overall player numbers, this is important because marketing people want to know these things to better tailor experiences to stereotypes to make money.
I've read the Privacy Agreement, no where does it state it is legally required for the customer to tell SE their real gender; All SE agrees to do is not dox you and has the right to use your information for the purposes of creating anonymous census data. However, not providing your real id would only ever be an issue if there is any legal dispute, such as over charge backs from bills (this is the primary reason SE doesn't use paypal… dumb I know) resulting in a temporary account suspension, in those situations you have to prove who you are if you need to dispute it since the account is suspended and lying about your gender makes proving who you are more difficult and bring into question the ownership of the account from which the money is being transferred; but these situations are entirely the fault of the customer and SE states it is the responsibility of the customer. If you lie, it is you who has to deal with the fallout if it comes back to bite you.
When the guy complained about fetch quests I was immediately like "ah he only played to level 60". Yeah, outside of Beasttribes there are no fetch quests after Heavensward; There is a lot of grinding and item collection related to Relic Weapons, but that is about it. From 60 onwards FFXIV plays more akin to modern RPGs and Adventure games as opposed to Everquest Clone™.
Also the BLM thing; Square Enix America donated money to Black Lives Matter a couple of years back; They do not represent Square Enix Japan, they are a separate company, their only involvement in FFXIV is on the community support side and they have staff who are Game Masters, Support and also host a regular Twitch Broadcast on the FFXIV channel. A lot of people were salty about this because it is political. Everyone who played the game who live outside of the USA didn't really care about this.
So with the whole housing thing: it's mainly a technical limitation. Maybe some greed, but mostly tech limitation.
Housing wards have their own servers, which means that any time a new housing ward is added to the game, they need to get more server space. This is why wards are slowly trickled in instead of adding 50 wards all at once. It's a bandaid solution, but it's pretty much all they can do. A lot of people (including myself) want instanced housing, but that wouldn't entirely fix the problem either. Island Sanctuary uses instances, but those instances are on the housing servers, which meant that people on high pop servers couldn't get into their island on release day because the instances were getting hammered. Basically, if you have both kinds of houses, you're gonna have problems.
As for auto demo timers, they do suck. However, the goal isn't to extort money from the playerbase, it's to relieve the housing market from houses that haven't been used for years. The auto demo timer's been off for almost a year. The devs don't want you worrying about your fantasy house if you're in serious danger of losing your own house due to war or pandemics.
Honestly, If you can spend the time and effort to get a house, you deserve it vs someone who just walks in, and buys one after buying their way to it. I can see the idea and pain of losing a house you worked so hard for, but at the same time…there are so many people who work their ass off for trying to get a house. And hoarding one while (for some reason) it is so limited, and you're not playing the game for several months…or do decide to quit the game for any reason. It would be no different than buying a house in real life, and only using it every couple of years for a few days. It's a waste of space. vs the other person who loves FFXIV and plays it regularly, you don't have to do it daily, but on routine, works their way up for something like the house and actually use it or enjoy it more than once. And this is coming from a girl (gasp…gender!) who only has an apartment. I enjoy my little space, I don't go to it often, but it has some nice collectables and is a nice spot for your character to chill while waiting for the Queue in party finder. I worked hard for the little room, I am just fine without a house and apparently…much happier without than other players. 95% of my in-game money goes to badass gear and food, that way I can enjoy the true point of XIV. Glamour XD jk (really its raiding)
hes kinda right bout the story quest, too many "amazon quest" really threw me off sometime. afk tank is real, not sugar coat, meet few times, the tank dont want to get penalty they just sit at the entrance. from dungeon to alliance. its consider community issue cause we play in 4 players dungeon. gender who care, i agree just put whatever shyt you want. geez. must be those weird woke people find something to complain. housing nah, i just happy living in my small apartment.
Ive been playing 14 for over 6 years. Never played a single dungeons with any friends because I have zero in game. This is one thing I’d like to accomplish someday in FF14. Id love to make friends and run content together.

Great video but these are clear examples of why people don't read reviews and just watch review videos or ask a friend.
Only bitter people and trolls leave written reviews.

These people clearly haven't played rocket league, they don't know what a bad game is
on the subject of housing there used to be no demolition timer but you had people with houses that hadnt logged on in half a year
Actually, if you need to call customer support to recover your hacked account you will need valid identity.

Totally not WoW players trying to review bomb, that would be totally out of character for them…

Square Enix asks for gender for two reasons:
Reason One: So they know who they should address formally in E-mails, Mr/Mrs/etc.
Reason Two: Data collection for surveys, i.e X number of Males/Females/Other in public released and/or private company review logs on overall player numbers, this is important because marketing people want to know these things to better tailor experiences to stereotypes to make money.

A friend bought it from steam and when he opened from the launcher the screen whent black and the game shut down. ¿Does anyone knows how to fix it?
i played in 1.0 and had fun . if i can play that, i can play anything

The first review sounds like they were having some tech problems on the audio and visual ends.
lol 2 political extremes in a row, (both could be a joke though)
hes kinda right bout the story quest, too many "amazon quest" really threw me off sometime.
afk tank is real, not sugar coat, meet few times, the tank dont want to get penalty they just sit at the entrance. from dungeon to alliance. its consider community issue cause we play in 4 players dungeon.
gender who care, i agree just put whatever shyt you want. geez. must be those weird woke people find something to complain.
housing nah, i just happy living in my small apartment.
the simplest solution to having an AFK tank is to learn how to tank
Ive been playing 14 for over 6 years. Never played a single dungeons with any friends because I have zero in game. This is one thing I’d like to accomplish someday in FF14. Id love to make friends and run content together.
what is the launcher? isn’t it sus to use stuff like thay
You should do start of FFXIV everything without color with grey filter like it is dead, and close to no ambient, animal etc sounds on background.
And it is unplayable without g shade and some anti aliasing.
