  1. I don't think Chance should play FF14. Not that he's not allowed to, but just because he clearly doesn't like what he sees. But I understand the predicament he's in too. His viewers constantly hound him to try it when he doesn't want to. He knows making the switch from WoW to 14 is where the money is at because everyone wants to be like Asmon. People don't like watching WoW too much anymore which is also hurting his views since it's become the era where it's cool to hate on WoW. You also gotta figure that The two hype things for WoW he and A LOT of people were looking forward to, Vanilla and TBC Classic, Blizzard fucked up, which kills the enjoyment of playing that. Having to play games on stream for other peoples entertainment means you don't really get to enjoy the games fully yourself anymore. And with so many people making a mass exodus from WoW to 14 and other games, Chance is kinda being dragged out of a market he wants to stay in. If I remember right he said on a stream one time that he was mad that Blizzard is such a shit company now because all of his buddies he does arenas with and all the people who used to queue for arenas are gone or leaving. Everybody is talkin' shit on Chance for hating his life, but I think he loves his life, he just hates what his job has become. He has that mentality you get after it finally dawns on you that everything you do is just for a bunch of dancing monkies to laugh and sling shit at. Plus it coming to light over the last few years that a lot of people he knew when he first started streaming and whatnot have grown up to be shit human beings. Raping people, molesting others, defrauding children, etc.. I think he's just over the job, but it's a great source of income so he sticks to it.

  2. The FF: XIV crowd in this comment section are just as toxic as Soda and that's saying something heck it's soda who built his identity on being toxic. >.> Big Oof.

Not directing it at the fountain comments he deserves a bit of shit-stirring for having such a brainfart there
I'm not a fan of his I briefly jump through his content over the years I'm not an MMORPG PVP guy I enjoy the PVE side far more
I have absolutely no love left for WoW so I'm not salty against FF: XIV I just hate seeing this circle jerk of hatred against soda for not liking a game.

    however,

take a step backstop getting so butthurt he doesn't like your precious FF: XIV and tries to understand how he came to the conclusion he did.
Just to nip it before it gets reee'd "just don't watch it" or "just watching it for the current hype" do you not understand how twitch/streaming works?
if he did not chime in at all he would be bombarded for months with chat/social media demanding he look at this game, that he plays this game…
that's how it works for the majority of mildly large+ streamers they really don't have a choice with how insane their fanbases are. Not watching is not an option
He doesn't need to watch just for this hype that's not how it works when you have anywhere near as big a following as soda he's not an exclusive WoW streamer
and hasn't been for a very long time even if WoW has lost massive amounts of its fanbase it isn't going to affect him because he branched out long ago.

    First
Soda recently watched the Endwalker/Shadowbringer trailers before this hype and having watched his content off/on for many years going back to when I took any interest at all in WoW
This was probably the absolute worst place for him to be introduced to FF: XIV those trailers IMHO are horrible for anyone that has not at least cleared main story, Endwalker in particular without clearing expansion content. FF: XIV trailers are just straight out not made for marketing to an outside audience, they are made for one single purpose and that's to stoke the fan base.

Soda has not played with said characters he has no connection to them the five-second jump editing like some high school student would throw together for an AMV destroys any form of connection or character-building he could hope to attain from the trailers. He doesn't know who these people are, he doesn't know who's fighting who, he doesn't even know what these people are (race/class/faction)… he has to try to grasp a basic understanding of what/who these people are, where they are in the world, what they are trying to do in the scene and how these people make sense from a game perspective and then by that time it's already gone there is one or two new people on the scene in an entirely different place of the world.

    First/Somewhat
The 2000's emo music with the edgy emo FF artstyle of the trailers is a hardsell to most WoW players that are used to a cartoony comically oversized muscled hairy characters with the somewhat gritty HordevsAlliance artstyle. it was really hard for me to sell this game to mates with how much that locks in the intial impression.

    Second
Starting into this series of videos coming off the back of such a terrible introduction let's say of a sale of 10 to -10 he is at a -3
and that he likely got bombarded by chat to watch the videos in the first place so maybe a -3 is too generous…
It's easy to understand why he is so lifeless and negative to what he is being shown.

Straight away first video he gets told the main draw to MMO's for him the PVP is essentially nonexistent taking him from a -3 to a -8 for any form of interest.
Next video brings him from -8 to a -5 with some interesting boss fighting but the mention of such small raids he instantly relates that to what he knows best
WoW and take sit as a negative so -5 back up to -7 Final video the best video to show someone like Soda it draws him in and unlike the other videos he skipped
through and ignored this sinks in and he gets it unfortunatly he gets fixated on something (a crutch) damage meters and with his chat giving confusing anwsers
as is always the case with chat… it takes what was a strong video brought the game up to -1 down to a -3 leaving him back were he was with the cinnimatics that
he did not like and a world that he did not understand

IMHO Had he been shown the Classes/Job to Play GUIDE first then the Dungeon video he would of been far more accepting to understand the differences and the
video discusssing PVP Wouldn't of hurt his impression anywhere near as much…

And just straight out not watched the cinimatics unless he planned to watch all of them in order…

  3. Not a lot of people complete the Mythic Raids in WoW…
I mean… 0.9% of the characters in XIV have complete ONE Ultimate. The first one came out what, 4 years ago ? Yeah…

  4. Idk why people insist he watches FF videos when he clearly doesn't like the game. FFS he said the entire Endwalker trailer was bad because he didn't understand how fountains worked. The obvious stretch for excuses should be a wake-up call for his chat to not recommend him FF content anymore.

  5. >okay im going to treat it like netflix, im netflixing this
    >proceeds to start skipping
d-…do people really just…skim through netflix to the pouint where "netflixing" is a term? or is this just him being max adhd here? either way its kinda sad to see someone so determined to be miserable tbh.

  6. I used to like soda, but he seems so depressed and cares for nothing. He doesn't listen to the videos hes watching and shit talks the game for no reason, he has no stake in the game but has nothing but awful things to say about it.

  7. This guy would actually fit in with the dedicated ranked feast community I've seen lol. There used to be a top 10 feast player in charge of my fc and I spent some time learning how to play from them and watching them play and interact with other top players, and they were almost as jaded as soda.

  8. Honestly if soda literally just cares about endgame raiding and pop he could either just get to 30 and focus on pvp or he could just boost to 70 and shb msq and grande through that in like less than 2 weeks prob. He can spend time learning rotation on dummies on whatever he boosts

  9. Ppl calling soda trash depressed awful etc. You do realize that most of these guys' childhoods were spent in wow and their streams were made by wow gameplay, they played this game for 15+ years and to see everyone slowly move on is sad. They've put tens of thousands of hours in this game and to see it fade away is heartbreaking. If wow suddenly "magically" fixed itself all of them would instantly live ff14 and come back to play their game, ff14 is just a temporary bandage for most of these guys, including me. I'm enjoying the game because it's fresh but deep inside I'm hoping that I'll come back to wow one day and forget about the game killing itself.

  10. “i don’t count PS4 people” what a dumbass, imagine not counting FF biggest player base especially since FF is a playstation exclusive franchise.

  11. This was kinda sad to watch because it looked like he couldnt understand a game without a toxic community lol. FFXIV isnt perfect but its significantly nicer then wow. DPS meters can be used just dont use them to negatively effect other players gaming experience. And only a small percentage of player have cleared Ultimate Content so there is a challenge in the game and those groups do look at parses.

  12. Listen, FFXIV not being your style, and for that you're not willing to give it a shot, that's perfectly understandable, but don't go actively looking for reasons to hate the game for. If you're mad that it's stealing wow's spotlight, then don't be mad at FFXIV, be mad at the incompetent circus that is the wow dev team, they're the ones that have run the biggest mmo into the ground, not square enix, FFXIV or the FFXIV community.

  13. Even worse than soda shitting on ff14 (a game I love right now), is the nerds in the comment crying because someone doesn't like something they like. It's actually the reason people hate anime and weebs on the internet. They can't accept that what they love isn't actually the center of the universe. Believe it or not, some people play games for PVP. In fact some people ONLY play games for PVP. Shocking right? (Wouldn't expect FF community to know about it, they abandon their own pvp mode a week after the seasons starts.) I don't actually even care about PvP myself but, damn it's so cringe reading these comments. I can smell the obesity through the comments alone.
