  1. You know how sometimes when you play an MMO and you don't have a group of friends to ask questions to you think, "oh no what if I make the wrong class choice, everyone will laugh at me."

Anyway the only class I've ever played is monk

  2. I always saw the dragoon icon as a spearhead (you know cause they dive from the sky), but now i cannot unsee a dragon.
EDIT: As a SMN Main, I can confirm that I'm always horned up.

  3. Some thoughts while watching as someone else who thinks too much about job icons.
    – The centre vertical line on the PLD icon represents the sword element of the sword and shield duo.
    – DRK resembles a greatsword (handle at the top, blade towards the bottom) as well as a person reaching upwards and dispelling magic (figure on the bottom, magic above.)
    – The curve behind the AST cards also represents the planisphere.
    – Maybe a reach, but I think the 3 lines in MNK's icon might also represent the 3 forms (opo-opo, raptor, coeurl.)
    – DRG is both a dragon's head and the sharp end of a lance.
    – The ball in the RPR icon is meant to symbolise the voidsent avatar and/or a void gate.

  4. Rate every sightseeing log view. Alternatively if you don't want to drive yourself mad, Rate every jumping puzzle like the Kugane Tower and the three? in Gold Saucer

  5. Most of the job icons are a reference to the weapons wielded by the job. The only exceptions being SCH, SMN, and BLU, which use armor pieces instead. Though BLU can be seen as a cane and mask combined.

  6. The BLU icon makes me think of the persona series, in particular P5R which is about the "masks" we wear, and rebelling against it (and much more). Behind the mask is a thief's knife, as the main gang of characters are a group known as, "The Phantom Thieves".

  7. I don't know if you take requests, but I think it would be fun if you ranked all of the patch logos/key art, since they always make a unique one each time. You may be wondering why you would want to do this.

  8. I dont play PLD, but its icon incorporates the shield and the sword. The line through the center is the blade of the sword and the way it crosses over the top line of the shield represents the scabbard. I really like the multifaceted look to some of the job icons. Like Viper's representing the two blades of the class, and a pair of snake fangs.

  9. I think the GNB one is supposed to be the sights of a gun but with a slash through it, like the last sight a shooter saw was the GNB rushing them.

SCH's is three things at once to me: Glasses, a graduation hat, and a book splayed wide open.

I always took the MNK icon as both anime speed lines and cat claw marks from their coerul stance.
