  1. 6:00 – This is why I don't use my work laptop for ANYTHING other than work. If I want to watch some video in a break, I'll break out my personal laptop or phone if I'm onsite somewhere. Even if I'm onsite and folks want to find a place to do lunch, do it with my personal stuff. Even if there's no policy against it, it's just a good habit to make a hard line there.

  2. The idea a community developer thought he had the right to dole out any kind of extrajudicial punishment is insane. The moment you do anything malicious you loose your credibility among the community. There've been quite a few cases that've proven that already, especially in the MMO sphere. So why'd he think that was acceptable?

Anyone still remember Broomop's trashing of Official PSO2 JP and SCHTHACK back in 2012, and how dramatically it backfired on him?

  3. You know what actually concerns me the most about this entire gshade debacle? It is very easy to make the slight leap to imagine Microsoft doing this if you don't keep Windows up to date. "You're not patched, so we're deciding that you don't get to use your computer."

  4. we used to play doom, star craft and carmageddon on the school computers back in the late 1990's early 2000s. thats before the network guys really started locking down the permissions on the computer lab.

  5. Most government pc's at least here in the states aren't going to run any decent games and unless you have a super shit IT section it would be hard to put anything on a government pc. Usually you can't even connect your own pc to the ethernet ports

  6. The person who made "Geezshade" and "Deezshade" was illegally scraping more than what they were advertising, they're a 16 year old brat playing around with coding, they were openly mocking and making fun of creators whose work they were scraping, breaking copyright.

So. I'm still going to use GShade, the 16 year old shouldn't be doing that, the GShade person shouldn't have done a restart, but at the same time, NOBODY SHOULD HAVE BEEN USING SHADY FUCKING ALTERNATIVES FROM A 16 YEAR OLD.

  7. poor choice in title and thumbnail. it looks like you are implying that ff14 is responsible.

placing my first dislike ever on your channels.

GShade was used for many games. among others, pso2ngs, gw2, lost ark etc. even skyrim to a degree… it was not an exclusive ff14 issue.

  8. wow, you don't want gaming companies to become like other corporate entities. That is the exact reason there is so little new stuff being made. It's all rehashed bullshit with a different skin and the same gameplay with one or 2 mechanics switched up….. gaming will be dead here soon because people are going to have to be paid at some point to populate these games with actual people….

  9. I would argue that there is no world where "the program can reset your computer without warning or your consent" counts as "benign" – the person who made that decision has ZERO idea what is running on the computer they reset, and saying "you shouldn't run anything critical while running my program" isn't an excuse.
