I swear YouTube is attacking me.. I’ve been getting videos for static and leading, which I was an raid leader (giving call outs and such) but ever since I’ve left so many videos has been flooding me. But this is a great video ty ty!! <3
Sound like just be in an FC while having a group Static your with during that time. You can always change to a new Static as things change but you still have your FC.
Also usually fc statics tend to fall out lol
A big way I boil it down is interest and motivation. A free company is a social scene of varying peoples and motivations to playing FFXIV. A static means you all have the same thing in mind.
Me personally, I'm in a small fc of real friends. My friend and fc leader wanted to see if we could get everyone to dip their toes into savage with unsynced older content. But it's become obvious at A8S that not everyone is as interested in it as us. Which is where establishing a static comes in, because obviously a static is an informal group with one interest. Hell, make a static of rpers or crafters, that sounds cool. But me and my fc leader friend are definitely going to explore the options we have in finding people who want to form a static with us now.
I dont have anyone in the world
How do you find a static, though?
I honestly hated that shift In FFXIV after Heavensward…in 1.0 and 2.0 FCs served a greater purpose than just a chat channel with buffs…really miss that aspect.
Coming from WoW I expected fcs to be like guilds. I was disappointed lol.
In WoW guilds serve as the main group of people you do content with, especially Raiding. They’re communities of players you can call on to help with challenges and even just to socialize.
It’s a shame they don’t amount to much in the ffxiv community because it’s very likely they where meant to be the guild system of this game.
It's a shame that FC don't work like that anymore. If you work shifts and stupid hours, you can't commit to a static with fixed times. So you either find a very flexible static (rare…) or your other option is PF, which is not everyone's cup of tea to do stuff with strangers and maybe prog through the same phase over and over again until you find a group who will make progress. This is why some people are looking for raiding FCs, because then they would have a pool of people who like to raid, and they could do content ad hoc given that they have 8 people online.
