  1. looks more like a 3rd person view with VR though, when the warrior moves the camera moves alot. There's a already an option to switch to first person view in game so I guess if we do that it'll really be like looking from your WoL's perspective. Its really jank in battle imo but it'll be awesome to explore places with.

  2. The only people who want VR FF14 are people who have never owned a VR headset or played VR games. I have a pretty good stomach and inner ear and there is a reason my Oculus sits on my shelf gathering dust as an expensive unused toy. Just that simple scene at 2:00 would have 3/4 of the player base vomiting on the floor.

  3. As someone with a VR headset, I'm really excited for this mod. Prooobably wouldn't do too much actual combat, but I would love to take a tour around Eorzea and beyond in VR. Visiting every city, flying around places like Azys Lla or a particular endgame area, or even just looking at how horribly bad I designed my home from the perspective of my WoL. Really can't wait to try it out.

  4. I mean, even if that really became a thing we know the only one actually using that will be a certain RP sub-community… :D. cause basically all other usage are going to make you nauseous 100% in that game lol

  5. They keep trying to show VR as the future.. I hope not lol… I can't even play first person games without getting severe motion sickness. I know that doesn't apply to everyone, but it'd be a very bad future for me…

  6. It simply renders what the screen normally looks like just adding in abit more camera control based on headset. It isn't first person(outside of looking at the frog) as the player is the warrior given their UI. Like with most things VR, it would be interesting to do zone exploration and maybe the MSQ with it, but any actual combat or excessive movement/actions would be nauseating.

  7. Prediction: our modding community will out-do the OW community with perversion with this. A lying down bedroom scene with Ysh will be created, and I'll come back to FFXIV.

  8. I've tested it already. Some stuff like catgirls, bunny girls, Uldah, Gridania and Ishgard look great, Elpis/Ultima Thule slightly worse, Amaurot from capitol's vista looks amazing, moon too. Pretty good for roaming around. First person view is amazing, 3rd person is surprisingly good. It's easy to get nausea after hour or two of roaming. Mouse is unusable except movement, haven't tried controller yet. I haven't seen performance issues but my rig is very powerful so it's really hard to say how it works on average pc. Mod has definitely exceeded my expectations.

  9. Sadly, I can't do VR, suffering from motion sickness all my life. I can't even read or be on my phone in a car for long before I start feeling sick. Tried VR for 10 minutes once, I felt awful for ~2 hours. Heck I can't even play rhythm games like Taiko when the notes move too fast, I'll start feeling sick 3 minutes in. And say when there's a running water in a game like a river, I had this happen in XIV, if I pan the camera to a "birds eye view" so the character is in the middle and everything else is the running water, I'll start feeling it too.
VR is a suicide for me, there are pills that can help but I really don't want to have a pharmacy next to my VR headset so I'll just not play with it, but it still looks really cool and the idea is exciting nonetheless.
