This and the floor of final coil tells me one thing. The texture artists are gods
Of course they knew about the reflections.
The Crystal Tower was used to open a gateway to the 13th reflection to bring about the end of the Source.
ascian created allagan just like they built garlean empire so its not a suprise for allagan royalty to know this stuff
Spoiler title, gj
I never noticed the floor ugh
I remember next to nothing about this game’s lore 😅
ARR did mention other worlds. It’s just that we weren’t provided the whole story at the time, so we didn’t know how many nor what they actually were.
Now that I think about it, the umbral/astral calamity references and their number were the only tips. And even then… You wouldn’t really understand what they actually were till like Shadowbringers.
show not tell
hes close but so distant at the same time 😂
Xande knowing about the reflection that turned to void and using it to bring an end to the source is the plot of crystal tower raid in ARR, bit of a "yeah duh" moment
His mind is going to fucking explode when he gets to Endwalker. >.>
Hunh. Never thought about that. Always assumed that was installed after G'raha inherited the tower.
I see a lot of people commenting that it was obvious from the CT questline. These people need to go replay the CT questline, because we did not learn about the Shards until post-Heavensward. The only info we were given during CT was that Xande knew about the Void, NOT that it was a Shard, it never went that far into detail. THIS, however, confirms they did know about the shards, but nowhere in CT did it mention them.
Well, bare minimum Amon did
Man I wish I could learn things like that from looking at the floor.
[Shadowbringer spoiler?]

the way the Exarch is standing on the spot of the Source as well lol, pretty nice little detail there
If Im not mistaken both the Allegan and Garlean empires were founded by a certain ascian with the singular goal of facilitating the rejoinings. The allagans, like the garleans, were used to this end. It stands to reason that as the most researched of the human empires they would have eventually learned of the shards.
The Allagans knew a LOT of crazy shit!
All roads lead to the allagans…
Well yeah. That is literally the entire purpose of the crystal tower, to access the 13th
Thousands of ppl flock to this bull shit?
Knowing that the Allagan Empire was also founded by Emet-Selch, no surprise they knew about the reflections.
Spoiler:
I mean amon is fandaniel, I'm sure he had a big part on the crystal tower.
Caurse they did, they were created by the same person that created Garlemald as an empire xD
So refreshing to see someone connecting the dots in real time instead of yelling “No shot!” because a random idea popped into their heads (love ya, Rich Campbell!)
Ppl complaining about spoilers but I my financee has been playing XIV a few months, got to Endwalker, and in her first meeting with the Crystal Exarch she "figured it out.".
Ppl forget because it was over two years ago, but us being forced to play the CT story before EW was such a dead giveaway.
A lore bomb on its own. Imagine just turning your camera down only to be greeted with a silent revelation.
I find it funny that pyro is standing in the middle of it all not noticing all the lines converges into him signifying his identity as the traveler Azim.
