I jumped in and had no idea what I was doing, it was a mess. And now when I die it actually matters so dying actually feels like I'm letting my team down. I'm trying to give it a fair shot but I'm not sure if I'll grow to like it…
Everyone seems to have taken to this mode really well so I feel like there's something I'm doing wrong, and maybe if I could just understand wtf is happening I'll love it like everyone else.

It's essentially overwatch in MMO form, each job has a specific role that is unique to them with their own ultimates they get to use throughout the match.
I think itโs a crime that Casual Unranked is solo only. Let us play with our friends!!!
How true this is. The matches are so fast in every way that its hard to put down lol. Plus all the adventure plates that pop up, I've seen plenty of amazing ones for it just being day 1. I will say I cry a little when I get teamed up with members with little to no CC. I play Sage but Sage doesnt have CC so getting teamed up with others with no CC def makes for a harder win, more likely to lose.
The only thing is that there's no a casual that lets me queue with a friend.. I don't mind if we are together or against, I'd love to play with a friend without having to roll a dice at the same time… The mode is super fun tho
got into my first match, other team had a healer so we didnt do any damage and we lost. really fun
My biggest hesitation is all the new skills. Iโll be honest, Iโm not the most skilled PVEโr and the concept of learning so many more skills and people relying on me to be good (as Iโm sure these PVP skills have existed for a while and Iโve never really played at all).
I couldnโt stop charging at and LBing the other healer on my WHM. Itโs so fun!
I was having fun with it until I went in to ranked, No communication, all random roles, can't play with friends, nothing is based on skill at all, its just luck who you end up being qued in with. Not a good setting for ranked but casual its fun.
No no no, roles should not be implemented on ranked. Otherwise it will increase the wait time on queue and that will probably kill the pvp.
Had a string of bad matches this morning. one party had 2 healer who never cast a heal
I start to wonder if there are anything Yoshi-P and his team cannot do once theyโve decided to focus.

I wish they made the PvE actions as seamless as the PvP actions
This new game mode is amazing. This was my one sadness about ffxiv was the pvp scene and this totally changes it. It's fun, quick, and I just want to play it over and over! I had to peel myself away to finish unlocking the new Alliance Raid so I could join friends, but I'm going to be playing all day this weekend ๐คฃ๐
Finally SOMEONE covers this! I've been having a blast, and this is the step in the right direction for PvP! They had to make it Fun to bring in a bunch of players, and they achieved just that! Keep it up SE, and we can have a healthy pvp community long term!
Edit: Team Matchmaking For Ranked is a BIG NO. We had issues with Win-Trades with the Feast. Which is why I quit playing PvP in the first place. So no on the Ranked for Team/Party Queuing. BUT for Casual yes there should be Team/Party Matchmaking/Queuing.

LMAO, this mode is super addicting. I had to pull myself away to start MSQ and get into a lottery for a house before going to bed.
the balance is interesting too, because if it unbalance the game is over suuuper fast. If things are more balanced, then it is a fun match and still over fast.
coming from wow in shadowbringers pvp was a huge part of my gameplay. i'm so happy ffxiv pvp is in such a good place.
naw the role restrictions in light of the job changes wouldnt make a whole lot of sense honestly. Not having a healer is not an automatic disadvantage truth be told. The healing throughput is truly not as wild and mostly tied behind LBs or fufilling other damage oriented criteria where the resulting healing is more triage than anything. WHM is the best of the "healers" atm not because of its healing through put, but because it is the only one that can effectively peel with hex and its damage.
Its really not a matter of who has a healer on their team and who doesnt, especially with how some of these damage dealing jobs can instagib people. There is no on demand live saving ermegency healing buttons on any of the healers.
