  1. Low key coping for time mage just because I love the idea of being able to manipulate time in a final fantasy setting

But would also be able with the painter spellcaster too for the melee wanting the good ol pirates 😂

  2. Something to also note about Pictomancer (I do think the shirt’s a double hint) is that we have a Machu-Picchu parallel with Urqopacha. And next to it? Painted hills and mountains , mirroring the actual one irl. Painted hills and mountains, and odds that a Pictomancer caused it?

  3. I've seen a lot of people say it'll be called pirate or corsair but swashbuckler is another option.
I'd love it if the off hand weapon is a blunderbuss that we use for big burst damage.

  4. … or maybe it is a job taught to us by a giant rat, who knows?
I do agree corsair is very likely, but I have no idea on the caster. Could be "black mage on a vacation" for all we know

  5. I think there is a high chance of a Elementalist/Shaman type of job. With the lore being inspired by south american history it makes sense to me.

  6. Huge tinfoil hat:

I just finished FF16, but what if the melee dps is similar to ff16 clive, no spoilers to those who havent played but meteor holds a handed sword, and the empty hand would a fire claw like clive notice that meteot gets hit with fire and kinda "melts" away possibly hinting at him resistant to the flames cause he channels the flame claw off screen?

Take a peek at FF16 promo art and you see clive with one sword and his claw. So maybe that it. Idk unlikely but would be sick

  7. The shirt is because Yoshida is a big nerd and the new TMNT movie came out literally the same day as Fanfest. The shirt has the name of the movie itself on it

  8. i think pirate/corsair is basically guaranteed with the way the mc looks i really like the way he looks in the trailer. i also really like the sound of the painting mage but yeah i think the shirt is probably pointing towards the melee dps im really not sure tmnt is a really different way to show it. a sword and pistol is a really cool choice i hope maybe very slim chance that you can either equip two swords or sword and pistol but well have to wait and see. im extremely hyped and think your on the right line azurite.

  9. Everyone is over looking that when the derp lander is fighting, when he is hit in the face with fire…. his eye turns yellow-ish….. that’s not normal.

  10. The whole painter thing, I don't see that happening. They wouldn't be able to copy abilities from every mob in the game because that's basically BLU, let alone recreate the mob in some fashion as Relm does. They could swish their brush around in the air with ink-like effects, but then you have BLM that already has a literal paint brush for one of their weapon glams. Green Mage is buffs / debuffs and CBU3 already massively struggles with balancing BRD & DNC, so I don't see that happening either. The more that I think about it, the more I lean toward the caster being the "unique to 14" job, and Corsair being the returning job.

  11. I think the shirt could mean both new jobs. My thoughts are the first revealed would definitely be Corsair or Pirate type job. Ninja vs Pirates already being a thing kinda references this, also the trailer kinda looks like the WoL is in a “Pirate” type theme. The other job I’m thinking a Chemist, or something of that nature (maybe twisted in some sort of way). My thoughts are because the TMNT were created with “Ooze”, so chemist of some sort. Might be a stretch, might be factual. With chemist though, we would probably get a DoT job back that we lost from SMN rework.

  12. Just putting this out there. One of the actor’s name in tmnt mutant mayhem is Shamon Brown jr. so maybe shaman is a possibility. Also I think he plays Mikey who is the one on the top of the shirt.

  13. I am not particular when it comes to the Melee job. However, I am on the Geomancer train for the caster and I have multiple pieces of evidence and speculation as to why it could be (and should be) the caster DPS. Here are all those points:

    1) The shirt that YoshiP wore was of TMNT. They are turtles, which could be a hint that they are referring to the Kojin or Genbu. Genbu is a Geomancer. Not only that, it could be a representation of the Four Lords. The shirt shows the turtles in cardinal positions too which could also something he wanted to give a nod towards the Four Lords for as well.

    2) Geomancer is a discipline that already has established in the world of XIV. There are people who erroneously say that it's just the Far Eastern equivalent to Astrologian when, in fact, they are just similar and are COMPLIMENTARY to one another. Those who make this comparison immediately assume that the job must then be a healer; This is incredibly unlikely as the lore itself suggests that it's not an art that specializes in healing. Ganen, First King of Doma and founding father of Doman Geomancy, was a skilled swordsman and mage both. When he was a young boy, he learned Geomancy from a Hermit. Couple that fact with the distinction that Ganen is the father of DOMAN Geomancy, it's not impossible that this Hermit could have learned Geomancy from somewhere else in the world (Perhaps even the New World?) I find that particularly curious. Ganen Rijin was also a General before becoming King of Doma which could imply that Geomancy's combative capabilities.

2a) This isn't really evidence towards geomancy being the job but it's a fun bit of lore.

Gyoen: “A looong time ago, longer now than it seems, Yanxia was a wartorn land. Much strife, much battle. In the midst of that conflict, one very special Namazu was approached by a great general. The general asked the Namazu to swim across the One River and deliver for him a letter of great import. The Namazu took to the water and swam his heart out. Arrows flew across the skies and fell into the river mere ilms from his barbels. Yet somehow he managed to elude death and arrive at the opposite shore.

And the letter he delivered proved the key to victory for the general and his allies on the other side. With that, Yanxia was united and the nation of Doma was founded! That general was the great Ganen, the first king of Doma. But even from the throne, he did not forget his Namazu friends. To show his gratitude for our help in winning the war, he gifted our kind with a bell and named us his royal messengers. And that marked the first time any Namazu rose to such heights. That is why to this day we Namazu wear our bells with great pride and honor. See? So it is true, what I told you before. We Namazu here are quite civilized indeed.”

    3) This next thing is mostly just the timing of things and something I thought was curious that nobody else pointed out. It could amount to something or be a big fat nothing burger considering it's in no way referenced. In the latest BLU quests, Martyn fights the famous Spiked-Butt Dragoon, Alaimbert. During this fight, Martyn throws out some magic that isn't BLU magic and I couldn't help but notice that all 4 spells used looked like Spells a Geomancer may employ. If you have BLU up to that point, I suggest giving it a revisit. It could be nothing but it was cool enough to make me go "Huh…" lol

    4) During the level 80 Astrologian quest "Love, Astrologically", Leveva is having some troubles bringing Astrology and Geomancy under the same discipline. This could further support the idea that they aren't alike enough to be one in the same and only complimentary of one another. It's not the strongest piece of evidence, but it does suggest that they are still fundamentally different despite the similarities.

    5) I often see the argument that Geomancy being added to the game would be a conflict of elemental spells as WHM/CNJ already use the elements that Geomancy would use (earth, water, wind) but I believe that to be a non-issue as other jobs in the game share existing aspected magic. Fire, for example, is used by BLU, RDM, BLM, and even SMN while in Ifrit. I could make more examples for this but the point remains that it would be used differently.

I could probably squeeze out a few more tidbits if I thought about it, but I think this is far more than enough on the matter. I would love to know what you think if somebody takes the time to read this novel. Lemme know if you disagree with anything. I am all for the discussion surrounding this.
