  1. I never really got the feeling that the game was trying to excuse Yotsuyu and Fordola's crimes but merely giving context as to the events and experiences that helped shape their actions. I feel that is important because the "why" of their actions isn't insignificant. If they had simply chosen to pursue acts of cruelty and inflict suffering in a vacuum, or despite their upbringing, I feel that would speak far worse of them and illustrate that it's much more unlikely they could or would redeem themselves and ultimately strive to affect positive change. I also think that being able to see and acknowledge this nuance is important for us as well so that we don't fall into a place of being unable to feel empathy and compassion for those who have caused great harm. I feel that leads us down a road where we feel comfortable deciding that some people don't deserve empathy and compassion and from there it becomes far easier to justify slowly moving those goalposts until only the most pure deserve them which ultimately erodes our own humanity.

  2. The whole "it's a hard to animate hugging" is hard for me to buy into. I thought the same thing too, and then I was watching someone play through ARR again, and they did a pretty good job with hugging when Minfilia hugged F'lamhinn. Sorry, its always something that has irked me. More hugging is needed!
