  1. its so crazy, you never see Soken this serious usually, he created one of the most amazing songs during it … its so crazy, he is one of the most amazing persons creating music, especially for FF14, its just one more reason why the community love him so much, i still cant fathom it… i sure have tears in my eyes seeing him like that and listening, love the whole Team of FF14 so much they are the purest human beings no game company will ever have <3

  2. More respect for a videogame developer, i cannot imagine giving Soken-san. He is God Tier 🙂
And a reason Yoshida was so emotional is because just 1 year before Soken got cancer, he lost a friend to cancer 🙁 One called Dad of Light

  3. Ohai!… new model? or just change in colors? 😀

Also… knowing that he wrote "To the Edge" LITERALLY as a "homage" TO THE PLAYERS, makes that fight and song hit just so much more now.

    quick edit

And dont worry about crying…. i was raised in the "men dont cry" days….. even after all this time, seeing this video ALWAYS brings me to the point the only thing holding back tears 'is' that upbringing, to the point that im just a 'poke' away from full on bawling.

  4. People will often point out the failings of Square Enix or things the devs can and should fix. And they do have a lot of the shortcomings that you can find in any corporate or game industry business. But the degree to which they invest themselves into the game and the player experience, it's not something you can just replace with a slightly better workflow or more attention on the one piece of content that one person enjoys. They have so much transparency about who they are and what they're trying to do, and while some of it is probably still being filtered for PR it's just so much more human and raw than what I've seen from other companies. Not naming names.

I probably could have saved myself a lot of money over the years by starting and stopping my sub and only playing the new content, but as long as they don't betray the trust they've built up I feel obligated to put all the sub money toward the kind of devs I want to see here and everywhere else.

  5. I will give the little bit of insight that makes all the difference that I always post below reactions to this video 🙂 At the very end, where YoshiP says thank you and bows for like a straight minute, the actual words he's saying are: "Thank you, warriors of light from all around the world, for bringing my best friend back" T_T

I watched this unfold live, and I think I cried for a straight half hour at least, Soken is such a freakin' legend, hope I get to meet him one day :3
