The first big cutscene of Stormblood! SPOILERS AHEAD! All I’m saying is Krile is a beast, Pipin is a legend, Meffrid is the lad and Lyse MVP.

  1. Whehey! First juicy cutscene of SB – and hopefully of many more to come Lyse rapidly becoming my favorite character of this expansion already, and we're barely getting started. Also – horrible pronunciation of Lyse's name on my part. No apologies though for Krile = Krilli! That one sticks!

  2. You have officially met the one me and the FC call Golfbags to keep from spoiling out sprouts. Fun thing: Zenos was holding back!

On Sophie's point, Zenos is literally the peak of what a Garlean body can do. Plus he has the latest in Magiteck armor and equipment.

  3. Cob: "He's got impressive hair tho"
    Me: Nods
Soph: "Except for the ends, they're very dry"
Me: Wonders what kind of superpower women have to always judge hair with that kind of precision

  4. Some fights you won’t always win, but it gives you reason to grow and become better. If you always win, you never quite find how far you can stretch to become better than you think you were. Defeat is never the end, just temporary setback.

  5. Other people could beat primals if they could deal with tempering. Your character is just quite strong near master level not the best in your field or the world.

Also res spells just restore consciousness. Can't do things like bring back the dead or heal rabauns arm.

  6. You may have noticed that Zenos starts at level 70, where you're about 60 at this point!
We're really amazing at fighting Primals. We're the godslayer, after all! But Zenos isn't a Primal, he's just a very powerful man, so our inherent advantage is gone.

The point where Krile tells you to hold her down depends on your class. If you're there as a healer class, she tells you to help with magic. It's neat sometimes to see quest dialogue change based on who you are!

  7. Fun fact – if you play a healer, Krile doesn't ask you to hold Y'shtola down while she works, she just goes "help me, you're a healer aren't you??"

Really nice touch to finally acknowledge that your character should really be healing people in these cutscenes lol.

  9. Don't worry you'll get your ass repeatedly kicked by someone supposedly much weaker than him in the next expansion. That's the issue with power creep in a narrative based game.
Keep throwing more and more powerful enemies at the protagonist and sooner or later you'll write yourself into a corner and be forced to contradict yourself when it comes to power levels.
