I really don't understand people being overly dramatic about machinist. It's still the highest personal dps of all phys ranged, and the only way bard and dancer pass it in raid dps is reliant upon their party being well geared and skilled to utilize their buffs. Anything below purple parse gameplay as a group's collective is going to result in machinist being the better job….

Solo ninja has always been the strongest in alliances…..it's just that fflogs never ranked alliances based on rdps so most people never noticed. FFlogs ranks alliances based on raw dps data (meaning you basically needed dance partner and a whole bunch of buffing teammates if you wanted to be number 1)
See this is actually interesting because people want jobs that are "unique and different!" but then you point out that Picto grossly favors downtime and then in fights WITHOUT downtime it's just Ok/balanced. Which means the more fights with minimal downtime they add the worse picto gets, but in fights with downtime it shines. Which means it's a mildly polarizing job which favors certain encounters over others.
This is exactly what people SAY want and yet they want to nuke it into the dirt because of this specific thing. Wild.
PCT is currently only broken in that ultimate, why would you nerf it. You nerfing Ninjas too?
It's too early to judge for picto. I've been maining picto and people aren't even getting their opener off correctly in the parties I've been in.

Will this be the moment that the FF14 community realizes 2m meta and raid buffs have been killing the game and they start asking for raid buffs to be gone so we can start getting classes back to their identities again?

Please take cDPS into account when doing this for DPS and limit it to upper percentiles. All percentiles is going to heavily skew the spread when it comes to balance takeaways.
What they could do to PCT to take away the insanely strong downtime damage but not change their playstyle
Make it so that if a PCT do not have a boss targeted, they draw their motifs from memory, hence dealing less damage when used. Kinda like melees do less damage is not in the proper position
PCT draws from memory, leaving out all the details, deals 25-50% less damage etc
my issue with the CAR is that they decided to add body checks to an 24 man raid, the amount of times I joined a clear party and then wipe/disband on towers is insane, 2 towers you can survive, but if the 3rd also explodes it's GG. (and even then, that generally means 1 alliance is in heavy recovery mode)
the diamond shape arena phase is fine for me, it's all personal responsibility as it should be on an alliance raid with 24 man, if you mess up a mechanic, you either get cleansed or die, it's that simple, but then the tiles start and it's instantly "if people die, it's GG for everyone" and I don't like that design for an alliance raid, it's not difficult either, just that PF people somehow can't do towers, even on kill parties. (and yeah, I know Xeno said "don't do this in PF" well, I can't find any discord organizing runs when I can join.)
you can cheese ur dps if u are on the sides with aoes like double down salted earth and so on
"Players has no patience" Geezus this cannot be any more true, even with a PF description of "No abandon, 2 foods", people would still leave after 2-3 pulls.

As a Sam main, I think it’s fair that ninja and monk out damage Sam cause compare to the two Sam is clearly easier to play. Also the athletics is top notch so even it’s the least performing job. People will still play it
kinda hard to "fix" those outliers without making the jobs too same-y again.

Been a PLD main since SB when I first did endgame content, we've had the TOP lows and the DT highs but after the rework I do find it more fun, can do some fun flexible stuff, especially fitting the best GCDs in before a boss leaves. Goring change in DT and imperator were huge qol buffs for burst, and with the mit buffs, things feel more comfy for busters, level 90 ultimate busters were still a bit scary, now they're chill.
the new chaotic fight isn't bad but it has shown me I'm too old for ff14 or any mmo. people join and complain about spots. people leave after one round. then one person leave and waste 23 other people's time. but the most obnoxious thing to me is the clear for one party. you want 23 other people to do for you what aren't willing to do for yourself and other people and it doesn't even benefit them because the more people you help clear the more Materia you get
