I used FFXIV Lore to explain a Manderville Cutscene…

For those not in the know I’m 100% taking the piss on this one and just wanted to have some fun with the Manderville quest and known lore. Anything involving the Manderville’s is hyperbolic by association so the lore isn’t exactly 1 to 1, but I do my best job here at trying to fix that in the silliest way I think I can. Hope everyone enjoys!

  1. Also not mentioned : apparently, the WoL was a champion ball kicker before becoming an adventurer… or rather, he's become a better one since if you'd ask everyone he defeated and foiled the plans of.

As for the Mandervilles, I suspect they're descendants of a prototype Highlander lineage of super-soldiers from one of the previous eras that survived calamities. Heck, maybe they're the missing link between the world of FFXIV and Monster Hunter altogether.

  2. Alternate possible explanation to Brandihild's seeming to stop time. He Did a pulse of aether sight to get a comprehensive layout of the area, mentally reconstructed it in his mind it the data from the sight, and pored through it all in a matter of milliseconds seconds by aethericly boosting his physical brain like a monk would their fists, found the shield in his mind, and then went right to it irl so quickly that he was able get it to block the shot.

  3. Bro Tidus class confirmed??!??!?!?!?!??11?1!1??

In all honesty that kick was very reminiscent of Tidus in various media, particularly Dissidia. I don’t doubt that they COULD make some sort of Blitzer based job using his skill set, but I’m not really saying they will do it either.

  4. Thank you Synodic Scribe. I discovered what I think is the start for the Mandervville quest line a couple days ago and figure I should just accept it as it’s own weird story.

  5. As powerful as Godbert is at times, it's noted that during the Final Days he couldn't save everyone he wanted to. He looked at the WOL and saw how much they were doing and felt the WOL accomplished much more than he did.

  6. I absolutely abhor the Manderville quest line. It's tedious and not funny at all. Really disappointed they used it for the relic weapon. I have nothing to look forward to.
