  8. With the exarchic bow you can go through the augmentation process to make the crystals dyeable. The colour change is subtle but nice. The augmentation materials now cost poetics.

  9. As a BRD main who dislikes 90% of the bows in game because I also don't care for bow-harps, I'm glad you have Yoichi at the top. The version of the final Resistance relic without the particle effects, just the subtle glow on the crystals and inlay bird, is the only other BRD relic I like, and for flashy I do like the Suzaku. But the one that I'm surprised didn't make this list is the Byakko lute-bow, because for a music-themed BRD weapon it is unique, and yet not too bulky or overdone, with all the design weight at the bottom instead of top, and both regular and crafted versions are nice. Makes me wish we had less harp-bows and more lutes and fiddles.

Stylistically I'm a huge fan of more realistically designed, functional looking weapons, and one of my favourite bows is the Augmented Crystarium Bow (the dark knight weapon from this set is another fave). A solid, usable looking bow with a sword attached to the quiver. Very nice. The Rinascita bow shares a model, but can't be dyed that I know of.

  15. I was readying my torch and pitchfork in the event the Yoichi bow did not make this list. Definitely my favorite (though I usually use the non-zeta version). — That Ronfaure theme hit me with a nostalgia, too. Thanks. 🙂

  17. As much as i love a well done glow effect, i HATE that so many bows and bow-harps are so unbalanced in shape. I get the Japanese influence from their iconic longbows, but its not for me. The look of a traditional english longbow suits my preferences.
    i've been using the Bow of the Wanderer (PVP wolfmark purchase) for years. its clean, its subtly dyable, it is more than just a stick and string. Kinda elvish look. i'd love this base with a good glow effect.
