More about Final Fantasy 14:

“Final Fantasy XIV[b] is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) for Microsoft Windows personal computers, developed and published by Square Enix in 2010. It is the fourteenth entry in the main Final Fantasy series and the second MMORPG in the series after Final Fantasy XI. Set in the fantasy realm of Eorzea, players take control of a customized avatar as they explore the land and are caught up in both an invasion by the hostile Garlean Empire and the threat of the Primals, the deities of the land’s Beastmen tribes. Eventually, they are embroiled in a plot by a Garlean Legatus to destroy the Primals by bringing one of the planet’s moons down on Eorzea.

Final Fantasy XIV takes place in a high fantasy setting. The main location is Eorzea, a continent on the larger planet Hydaelyn: this contrasts Final Fantasy XI which uses one name to refer to the entire world and its regions. Eorzea is broken up among three main powers: the forest nation of Gridania; the desert-based Ul’dah sultanate; and the thalassocracy of Limsa Lominsa, Eorzea’s dominant maritime power. Other important locations include the scholarly city-state of Sharlayan and the Garlean Empire, a hostile northern power with highly developed technology. Five years prior to the start of the game, the Garlean Empire invaded the land of Ala Mhigo, but were prevented from conquering Eorzea by the attacks of the ancient dragon Midgardsomr and his dragon hordes. In response to the Empire’s threat, the three nations of Eorzea reform the Grand Companies, comprehensive centers of command which combine the cities’ military and economic assets. The Grand Companies attracted people from all walks of life, who take up the mantle of Adventurers.”

  1. You are in a very small minority that hates solo duties. They're so loved that the team created NG+ because of the demand to replay through them. And you very much can fail a solo instance, they've just been heavily nerfed since Shadowbringers (around 5.1), because casual players would fail them constantly.

  2. What everyone is forgetting that you as ordinary people CAN'T kill zenos. So you will stuck with the murderous zenos for life, It's like you all stuck with freddy krueger or jason. But the different is you still CAN reasoning with zenos, unlike jason and freddy. Remember here alisae is ordinary people unlike wol. She is no match and has no other choice.

  3. I love how in Elpis we interact with Hermes who is trying to find the meaning of life and when we leave, we immediately get an answer from Zenos who says that the meaning of life is simply what you make of it (in more complicated words, anyway).

A lot of what Zenos is right too. When he said "If his motives met with your approval, would you no longer resent the outcome?" That reflects on what Hydaelyn did. What she did condemned her own people, but most of us agreed that at the time it was the correct thing to do to stop Zodiark, so we're cool with it. We approved her motive, so we don't resent the outcome. All of this right after Elpis to just hammer it in.

Zenos is just a combatsexual stalker but goddamn he can be so deep sometimes. I really enjoyed his character, but I totally understand why others wouldn't.

  4. Too combative? At least you have self-awareness which is something a few who stream and are combative lack. I don't understand someone arguing about your tank stance though.
And I also do not find most solo duties compelling. I am watching after work and skipped all of the solo duties you were doing haha. I think the only solo duty that didn't suck was when Zenos takes your body, but the intent of that duty was to make us feel weak and show us how much power we really have as the WoL. I think the Thancred one was okay because you had to sneak around, but just fighting mobs alone is boring to me.

And to Christian who said Alisaie is wrong? At this point in the game Zenos doesn't care about killing more people. He's letting people live in this scene – he just wants to fight the WoL and doesn't care about those who he can easily defeat. So they aren't letting Zenos go free to kill more since he isn't interested in it anymore.

  5. With the overall themes of Endwalker, it's pretty clear that your understanding of Alisaie's point is right. Zenos may have a point about some things, but that doesn't mean that he's "right" or rather that his actions and worldview don't have their own consequences. She's not making a point about morality at all; only the personal consequences.

I think some people may have trouble getting past the idea that characters can be right and wrong in different ways.

  6. Looking back at this again, the Forum's ship was a fatally flawed solution.

It was too slow, which kicked off the whole subplot about having to improve its engines.
It was too small, which necessitated numerous back and forth trips to ferry people and supplies, since it wasn't like some giant biblical ark that could fit everyone in a single trip.
It was one of a kind and couldn't be mass-produced (else they would have done so in the centuries of prep time), so they couldn't even do a supply chain with numerous small ships rotating between the planet and the moon like how rapid transit would operate in real life with multiple trains.

The sad thing about this is that in all their years of collaboration with the loporrits, they somehow never were able to address any of the above 3 problems. The evacuation plan would have been doomed to fail.

  7. Thancred vs Ranjit was the best msq duty we ever had an totally connected to the story. Going back to watch and actually read what they were saying was like to watch a movie scene.

  8. Zenos: If I keep murdering sempai will finally notice me 🥺
Alisae: Bro no that's not how you get WOL if you keep doing that you're going to be forever alone. That's not how you make friends man.

    Alisae giving that life advice
