How Do I Feel After the FFXIV Honeymoon

Hello there, Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year, hopefully I will be much more active in the coming year, but still recovering from the surgery, and if you’re wondering, it’s going really well, and I’m healing well, too!

  1. (Hi, it's Emerald LexVeda here, you've met me!). I came from Phantasy Star Online 2. In that game, there wasn't enough content, and what there was to do was too "samey". Grinding the same combat zones over and over again. My "problem" with FFXIV is there is too much to do! So many choices that I often feel overwhelmed. I look to more experienced players (such as my in-game wife) to pick something to concentrate on but we both aren't good at making decisions. I wouldnt have even known about chocobo racing or MinionHammer 40,000 if it wasn't for my wife! But, too much content isn't a bad thing. At least there is always something to do! Just gotta roll a dice and pick something!

  2. I've found it hard to go and play other games again
If I'm not playing anything I want to play FFXIV, if I'm not playing FFXIV I want to play FFXIV
I don't know if I ever had a honeymoon phase with it as thanks to alts I always find a reason to log in and just do whatever, be it roulettes or island sanctuary or sitting afk in my room on the orchestrion
I've never felt forced to play, I've never felt like I wanted to stop (the one time I did I made my first alt and thus fell in love all over again), and I think no other game will ever give me the same feeling

  3. Based video and top tier editing like always, it inspires me to try my hand at more humourous content and better editing! ♥️
On the topic of the honeymoon phase, I started out in 2.0 and I think the catgirls honestly got me interested lmao, but once i got hooked to the game, I just couldn't put it down… now 8 or is 9 years later..? I'm still playing it to this day with some breaks and hiatus's inbetween, and I still have content I want to do, I've done all the savage and ultimate raids but I have yet to challenge Eurekas or Bozjas hard raids or do BLU content, so that's my plan for 2023! All I can say is dont feel bad about taking breaks when you need them but I'm really glad your enjoying the game because your content is great and it's always nice to see your new videos! 🥰

  4. Genuinely the only problem I have with XIV myself is that there is no midcore content so-to-speak, current extremes are fun but there are only 4 of them. You could also argue that extremes aren't midcore either

  5. More than anything, what I want in FFXIV is a reason to go out in the world with others and do things. There's so little to do in these zones that requires other people that doing anything besides sitting in a city or house party feels lonely. No one's talking in zones. No one's coordinating. I've never seen anyone camping spots for cool stuff. It's always just me and maybe a sprout who happens to be in an area because they're doing their MSQ and even then there's not much to do in the MSQ besides talk to NPCs and queue for a dungeon. Even the people I see when fishing don't communicate often when I speak to them. I don't want to make comparisons to other games but I think this is an area that could be improved upon.

  6. I’ve had many small burn outs with that game but I always come back lol (2750hrs of playtime 😂) been an entire year now that I’m on the grind to get all jobs to 90 only 5 classes left to go, I also as a side objective really want “goddess of war” title and bard is actually the last I need to get that but I really didn’t like playing that class up to 30 😭 so now I feel like leveling black mage, basically my formula after all those burn outs is definitely to not force something i don’t particularly feel like doing I really want the title but I know I would feel very annoyed by leveling bard atm

  7. For me the bit of content I put off, only recently chewing on was blue mage. It's such a nifty little challenge with a decent enough story. That said maybe get someone to power level you to 70 with fish throwing strats, before going spell hunting and playing in the masked carnivale

  8. Lol, yes ffxiv reddit is definitely toxic. I see many new players asking questions then get down voted.
Nice video anyway. And l liked the game enough to try to do content that l like less with workaround solutions.
