  1. In game models are different from trailer CGI, it's still a beautiful game imo but slightly less demanding on your pc than trailer CGI graphics I assume would be, they are planning for a graphical update for Dawntrail as well though.
There are several more trailers, however if you want to give the game a try I recommend not watching them before you get to that part in the game, especially the Heavensward trailer which is extremely spoilery. The game is very long, iirc, it's more than 300h with just the main story.
Imo the game is great, but there's alot of world building at the start which I understand isn't of interest to everyone. It also suffers a bit for being an MMO at times, aka, there are plenty of fetch, "talk to that NPC over there" and kill x mobs quests, both of these things get better as the game progresses and the devs listens to feedback and try to make changes accordingly.
There are few who regret paying attention from the start and more than a few who have regretted not doing so, but that doesn't mean there aren't ppl who don't enjoy the game or have a hard time getting into it ofcourse.
Personally, I enjoy stories and enjoy reading in general. Just saying, temper your expectations, and pray others don't push theirs onto you, us ffxiv fans can be very passionate xD.
It does pay off, and you do get to feel that awesome after a while!

  2. Soken the director for the audio for the last two major expansions was undergoing cancer treatments at the time and had no reason to go as hard as he did on the music but by god it's amazing.

What's amazing looking back on it is the trailer actually explains the events that happens in-between the last main story quest that proceeds this expansion and the expansion itself. The meaning of Warrior of Light has so much significance to the players so when at the end it said to become "The Warrior of Darkness" the room where this was shown live absolutely exploded.

  3. I took a chance and played FFXIV for the first time as the pandemic hit. By the time i got through the end of Endwalker in 2022 – it took me three days to recover from the experience. It is literally the single best piece of entertainment/art I've ever consumed. The writers took the best examples of every genre (play, movie, opera, television show, book, etc.) and shoved them all into a massively multiplayer game – finding a way for the player to experience all those other forms of entertainment as the main character in a story that can only be described as "epic". It's a truly, truly extraordinary experience and for me personally, a life-changing one as well. And I'm pushing 60.

  4. The fact you haven't reacted to the trailers in order hurts my soul, that said, solid video! Please react to Heavensward, Stormblood and Dawntrail now xD

  5. Every single expansion cinematics trailers give the same epic vibes but for me a realm reborn trailer is the most impactful one because of it is the starting point or even the turning point from “dead” game to the “game” where the final fantasy ip is proud of even to this very day

  6. you should check out Tomorrow and Tomorrow Eorzean Symphony, you want to talk about beautiful. This cinematic is 2 songs in 1, the first one you hear is "Tomorrow and tomorrow" (female vocals) the second one is "Who Brings Shadow" (Rock style)

  7. This "bunny girl" is actually the captain of the guards of the Crystanium and a pretty awesome character with impressive voice actors in both Japanese and English. Though in the trailer she's more of a showcase for the Viera race and Dancer job, both of which were new in Shadowbringers.
So to all the soldiers of the Crystanium, she's an acutal bunny-girl senpai. ^^

  8. I love this game and my Playtime is over 10440 hours. Thats how much I love it and love to spent my time in there. To be honest tho, it took me 4times over a Year until I fell in love with it. I never liked Quest based games so it turned me off but my friend kept pestering me and I'm so thankful she did. The first Arc is really slow but the End pays off so much. And the next Expansions just get better and better. Shadowbringer and Endwalker are my fav so far. i cried and cried and cried lots and lots and it just makes you feel so much happiness and sadness. At least it did for me. Even when you are done with the Main Story, you still got a lot to do or when you like being social you can attend other stuff. I love to go to Art Parties, they are super fun.
All in all, the Story is amazing and this Game is my absolute favourite ever.
And the Music…the Music is just so amazing.
I made a lot of new Friends in there that I have met IRL too and I'm just so happy I could experience it all thanks to that Game.

  10. Dude, it's been a year you tell us you never play a Final Fantasy game, know you need to make the big jump ! You should try FF7 Remake, that should be the best start to enter the saga for someone who never play a FF before.

  11. i think you should 100% give it a try, there's a free trial up to level 70 (which is up to this part of the story, Shadowbringers) and its….so good. its the best video game story ive ever experienced. not to oversell it 😂

  12. Shadowbringers was what I'd call the golden age of FFXIV, don't get me wrong, its still going and everything is still very good :p
But Shadowbringers, its where all the real hype started, you can see a real difference in the OST between before and after :p

  13. For people that never played: it's always the same character, but he can use different weapons to change to other "jobs": first scene he's a Samurai, then later he appears with a bow in hand as a Bard; when the angel attacks, he changes to Warrior, Dragoon, Monk, then Samurai again. When none of those works, he changes to Dark Knight to finally destroy the enemy
Also during the trailer other jobs appears as well, like Thancred's Gunbreaker, Y'shtola's Black Mage, Urianger's Astrologian and the "bunny girl" (it's a race called Viera) as a Dancer. All of those can be played in game

  14. Final Fantasy 14 is an incredible journey… as long as you’re willing to put 400+ hours into it. It starts slow, and if you do play it you’ll hear a lot about how much the first 50 levels of content suck. I’d recommend forming your own opinions, because folks who don’t have experience from later expansions think it’s just fine. So bear that in mind.

The music, however, is absolutely on point. It’s simply wonderful in every part of the game. In the first part of the game you get a lot of repeat tracks that fit multiple similar locations, with unique tracks for major fights, but by the time you hit the expansions every area, dungeon, and city has a unique track in addition to the major fights having their own songs as well.

Shadowbringers puts in work and is a significant improvement in every regard.

If you don’t care about spoilers I’ll recommend some songs from the game: Answers, Dragonsong, Triumph, Tomorrow and Tomorrow, To the Edge, The Black Wolf Stalks Again, Flow. There are so many others but these are standouts, in my opinion.

  15. YES if you played you would be the main character, the hero in that cutscene, its a game where you have one character and you can, if you choose to, play multiple different classes (obviously not at once, but swapping between, as you see in the cutscene) so like healers, tanks, damage dealers, varying different types with different play styles, and right now max level is 90, base game is i think the original 50 levels + first expansion (+10 more lvl) so 3 other expansions of gameplay aside from that. and its a very story driven game if you want to pay attention to the story, or you can skip it an just go for doing the dungeons an what not, i would advise if you do get it at any point, get it through the developer themselves, as if you get it through steam, you will be locked to steam, and the developers do more sales than steam if memory serves

yep bunny, cat (2 diff types), elf, humans, 2 other races but saying their name wouldnt clue you in on what they are i dont think

also after hearing that line, i had to go an play the line when it appears in the story again

  16. if you don't care about spoilers at all, try the bahamut vs ifrit fight in FF16. That song is amazing, the fight is pretty nuts too, peak FF16 if you ask me. And yes you missed 3 other trailers on 14 if I am right. These are better than most of the ingame stuff, but there are cutscenes like it. The game does play like this though albeit no so cinematic, that said the ingame is no slouch either and it is getting an overhaul soon too.

Little bit on this trailer to help you order the videos, no spoilers.
Technically there is a trailer for 1.0 but eh, its gone, so you saw the first opening for 2.0, Answers, the second one is the first expansion, Heavensward, which I dont think you have watched, I didn't see it in a search anyway, and then Stormblood, which I also do not see if you want to go back and watch those sometime, this one is the 4th and Endwalker is the 5th and current opening which you have seen. Dawntrail is the new 6th one you can watch but the content is not released yet, it is still coming out sometime in summer unless it gets delayed.

Try FF14 Luke, its free up until this content actually, Shadowbringers is the end of the free trial, so if you enjoy it you will have to buy it at this point, but there is a huge story and 2 expansions to get to before you get there, plenty to enjoy, very few restrictions on f2p too, though one of them is major like almost all the player interactions involving trade or marketboard is not allowed… so you will have to get your own gear etc, but trust me that is not hard, especially once you hit 50+ Yes there are bunny girls btw, Viera are a race in FF that used to be mostly female only actually, with males being rare and secluded, but there are playable males now too in 14. Sadly I think those are not available as a f2p, but you can get a free one time edit item after the main story (lv50) so save it if you want.
If I may suggest a few tips, as a f2p you have a lot less inventory space, so personally don't work too hard on crafting it will junk you up fast, just sell all that junk. If you sub you get 2 free retainers to carry your junk which still can be on the low end if you craft everything, but it is workable. Also if you do decide to sub there are two tiers, make sure you sign up for the lower one, it is a few bucks cheaper per month, only real limit is how many characters you can make on a server and honestly why do you need more than 1 if you can be all the jobs? Maybe a couple to play as a different race, or play on the US servers, which is fine you can do that on the cheaper one, otherwise no difference. You can visit other servers too if you have friends who play, but US, Europe, and Asia are all different server groups, and you do have to remain in the group I think.
Also, not sure if you have to beat the game to get access to it, but there is a FF15 crossover event currently rerunning and you can get a sweet car mount with a little effort, it seats up to 4 people too.
Ill stick a class list for you if you want to try, decide first if you want DPS, Healer, or Tank, keep in mind you can always change after a little of the story, so it is not set in stone.

So classes first I guess, skip this block if you don't care. These are all starter classes, there are more but you have to reach a certain level and beat the main story or get to Heavesnward at least for a few of them. Those are advanced classes though and they do not have a starter, they just come at a set level, and you start from there. Starters will all teach you to play as they level from level 1 and you get new skills as you go, so you will grow with it.
    IF DPS –
Do you like spears, with combos clearly laid out for you? Be a lancer. Only starter to use medium armor btw. Well I mean tanks can, but why?
Do you like martial arts, with a sort of do it yourself combo that has a few multiple paths you can alter depending on aoe or single target? Be a Pugilist.
Do you like pirates and ninjas? Be a Rogue, they start out kind of pirate like then become ninjas, go figure. Not actually a starter class but might as well be, you can get it after the game connects the starting cities roughyl at main quest level 15-16, maybe earlier if you pick one that starts in Limsa, not hard to catch up at that point either.
Do you like ranged? Be an Archer (you can get guns later in HW, but this is the only starter ranged)
Do you like magic? Be an arcanist or a thamaturge. Thamaturge is the traditional wizard type class. Arcanist is a "pet" class, the pets used to be more pet-like but now they are honestly just a spell casting focus, so it is still neat, but just a caster now. Arcanist is the only job that shares 2 advanced classes, so it can become both a healer (scholar) and a dps (summoner) later, and leveling one levels the other, which is neat free dps for us healers or a free healer for the dps.
    IF TANK –
Do you like sword and shield knights? Be a gladiator. They become paladins later and get a bit of a magicy feel to them.
Do you prefer the axes and yelling in your face of barbarians? Go Marauder, lots of HP, less mitigation than the other, but they don't care they just face tank it. Also probably one of the easiest solo classes later on, they get lots of self healing and I mean LOTS.
    IF HEALER –
You really only have one starter here, though technically a second option if you start as an Arcanist, you can become a shield healer at 30. The only real question to ask yourself on healers in FF14 is do you prefer straight BIG healing, or do you prefer to shield the damage before it happens with less big healing. There are 2 of each in the game, but the only true starter is Conjurer, a straightforward, BIG healer.

Slight to moderate spoilers with small vague story to help connect the videos
So you play as the warrior of light, and yes that is the same guy in all the videos. That is the canonical face to him in animations, he does change jobs in every trailer though, which yes you can do that in game, no need to make multiples or even stick to one class, just pick what you start as. 1.0 was terrible and you just need to know it existed, they will fill you in plenty, but basically there was an event that happened (the Answers video actually it played when the servers went down on 1.0) and it picks up a few years after that, you turn up at your starting city based on job in search of adventuring jobs to make some cash and such, and get roped into a grand adventure to stop an evil empire's invasion that could put the very world at risk. You get framed for some warcrimes after that and retreat to the north to lay low and figure out who actually did it so you can clear you name and also get roped into a long standing war between the natives, basically elves, and dragons of the area. This is Heavensward. After that you get tricked into a plot to cause a big border skirmish with lots of life lost for… reasons… if I said that'd be big spoiler, so reasons. Said skirmish spurs a rebellion to take back land the empire had conquered, it starts well, but then the prince shows up and well… bad ideas are in fact bad, so you come up with a plan to start a war on 2 fronts to weaken them on both ends, and thus starts Stormblood. You win the land back there is much rejoicing and you take a nap, a well deserved nap… and by that I mean you and your friends mysteriously start passing out one by one and eventually all turn up in another world, this world is almost like a reverse to what youve been in where light is evil, that is this video btw. You solve the issues there and find your way back home as well as start using some knowledge you learned while there to help with problems of your world. Some weird towers start popping up like overnight and weird things start happening that eventually lead to what is appearing to be the end of days, and that is Endwlaker, I will leave it there as that should cover brief, vague bits up to all the trailers. These all tie together to one story, Dawntrail is the start of a new adventure so consider it until we know more totally new.

  17. So you haven't seen all the cinematics yet, there's the A Realm Reborn cinematic from when the game was burned to the ground and rebuilt. The Heavensward trailer for the first expansion, Stormblood trailer for the 2nd expansion, and lastly the Dawntrail trailer for the upcoming expansion.

Also fun fact, the moment in this trailer when its flashing a bunch of memories, those are actually snippets from the past trailers. They also throw in the OG ff14 trailer which is the oldest cinematic from when the game was at its worst lol.

  18. Masayoshi Soken is the name of the composer, he also did all the soundtracks for FF16 and won best audio in 2023, you should react to FF16 trailers "Salvation'" and "Ascension", they have great OST, not to mention the OST in the game it self…
simple serach like FF16 bahamut fighit or FF16 accept the ture, you will see it feels like solo leveling ep 6 ost !!!

  19. THIS IS JUST A TRAILER, the game FF14 does not look like this, FF14 is an MMO game.
if you have PS5 then i recommend FF16 it's from the same team that did FF14 and the most close to this tailer !!!

  20. i would highly recommend you give ffxiv a try at the very least. i don't play mmos but i love this game, it holds a very special place in my heart. there's a free trial that covers the base game and the first 2 expansions with a lvl cap of 70 if you wanted to check it out before buying.
yes, you can play as bunny girls, the races are Hyur (human), Elezen (elf), Roegadyn (giant, kinda), Lalafell (halfling/hobbit), Miqo'te (cat girls/boys), Au'ra (dragon girls/boys, heavensward expansion required), Viera (bunny girls/boys, needs shadowbringers), and Hrothgar (furry cat men from shadowbringers with women coming in Dawntrail)
if you kinda want to get a feel for the game itself, you could try reacting to job actions or lb3 animations. Endwalker Job Actions would show you how all of the different fighting types use their weapons and stuff (except the newly revealed viper) and an lb3 (Limit Break 3) showcase would show you how flashy you could potentially be in a fight because they're used in either emergency big fight situations or to finish off a big boss.
the singer is JC Miller, he voiced an important side character in A Realm Reborn before they changed companies and he also sings To The Edge from Shadowbringers and Close in the Distance from Endwalker, both of which i recommend you check out.
