One thing I love about FFXIV raids and trials, half the time the theme music is the boss singing about how they're going to kick your ass. For Manipulator, the song is called Metal and its sung in Gobbiespeak, its extremely cool.
Pepsi man is the 3rd boss
Yeah they are easy these days. Your level is synced but you still keep your materia buffs, so these fights aren't hard like they used to be
It's funny to me how many raid stories Cid and the team end up involved in.
Alex raids are so much fun, Do listen to the Alex music it is fantastic. Soken and Koji Fox are in the band the Primals and often play at the fanfests etc. Have a look for the them on youtube. The music is everything in Alex raids.
If you have the chance do these in a premade party minilevel echo optional. They are such good fights.
yes the first boss you need to burn down as quickly as you can before the 0.5 copy spawns, which will have as much health as the main boss the moment it spawns. you would need to swap target and burn them down evenly. if you kill the main boss, the 0.5 starts a self destruct countdown which once it hits zero will detonate and wipe the raid.
And the coffers drop tokens instead of gear, there is vendor in Idyllshire where you can trade them in for the gear pieces. I have one set I always shoot for when leveling a new character and unlock the raids. which for gordias, its the healing set. my early healers are always glamoured that once they hit the right level.
Nice video. Looking forward to you playing through the rest 🙂 and playing through the rest of heavensward and the alliance raid! A lot of good times to come.
Time for Goblin lore.
A Goblin's name will tell you their gender. An "o" near the end of their name is female. Brayflox and Roundrox. An "i" is male. Quickthinx and Redbrix. Mysticmaker Profblix for an example from FFXI.
1st boss: usually, you tank them apart but people are now overgeared so it doesnt matter as much anymore. You kill the second boss first as soon as he spawns because, if the first boss dies before him, he casts a "youkilledmyfriendnowIkillyouall"-spell and its a wipe. Which also doesnt really matter nowadays due to overgearing: that cast is super long and you have all the time in the world 🙂
Alexander… Its epic where the music is concerned, the story, which is awesome, too, was a little bit… I dont know, I'm still trying to put the pieces together 😀 Maybe you'll do better than me 🙂
This raids seem very easy now because the average Item lv of the group is so high now, regardless of the characters lv being synced. You end up not seeing most of the mechanics because you kill it so fast 😊. The only way to experience this old raids in a similar way to what this were at launch is to use the "min item lv" option😊
The game / raids are pretty mindnumbingly easy up to around Stormblood when things get more challenging.
However if you do ANY Extremes or Savages from ARR onwards, you're in for a proper challenge ✌️
Regular "Normal" Raids are pretty simple, they aren't too hard specially if everyone else knows what they are doing. I really wanna see you do all the ARR Extreme Trials though, and maybe the HW Extremes and Savages as well.
The items you got after each of the 4 raids are able to be exchanged for gear. They're not going to replace your current set since their Item Level is abysmal compared to your i270 gear. Nowadays they serve as glamour gear but are undyeable. Now that you've got the first tier of Alexander completed, you can now unlock the Savage version of the Gordias Tier. This will always be true after you clear the 4th raid in every tier. The gear you get from the Savage version has the same appearance as the Normal version but it IS dyeable.
This particular Savage Tier had an infamous reputation when it first debuted. Since this was the very first Normal/Savage Raid series, the devs B A D L Y overtuned A3S and A4S to the point where it was literally impossible to meet the DPS checks without using an exploit since the gear that was available had Item Levels near what the Normal version gear had. Living Liquid, AKA Pepsi Man, was even referred to as "The Static-Breaker".
This is when they released "The Minstrel's Ballad: Thordan's Reign". In order to be able to clear A3S and A4S, better gear was needed, and so this Extreme Trial is unique in that the gear dropped from there has a higher iLevel than the Gordias Savage Tier. It is also the reason that Thordan EX is one of the toughest Extreme Trials in the game, even now, assuming that you take it on synced and M.I.N.E. it. Asmongold and Grinding Gear both put out videos of them doing the fight with those restrictions and you can see it for yourself.
But I digress a lot! Since you've got some Normal Raids under your belt now, you now have access to the Normal Raid Roulette! So, are you excited and ready for the next tier?
