  1. Seeing this run in 4k is severely disappointing. I fully expected this to run at 4k60 given the age of the game. Ps5 has shown to be more than capable of running even the most visually impressive if games at 4k60. Ghost of Tsushima and Demon Souls come to mind, and they both can have dozens of character on the screen at a time.

Sorry lol I was just really looking forward to playing this on my couch and anything under 4k is harder to read the text and other UI elements.

  2. Seems like 1440p is probably the best option for this game. These tests are not in a very demanding area, so I wonder how these will be in those. The best place to test this for low level players is probably Limsa Lominsa, which is the starting city for some of the jobs if you ever want to make another video.

  3. I missed out because of the stupid PS5 Shortages. Really wanted to play my 8 years since A Realm Reborn on a Ps5. Oh well maybe 2 years from now when I can walk in a store and Buy a FUKin Ps5

  4. Yikes. 4k ps4 version on ps5 ran better(constant 60). Yes, might not have been native but it was still crisp and buttery smooth. I assumed taking advantage of the full hardware meant it would still keep it and then some since they optimized its storage size. On PC, an 860 evo can give you less than 5 second loads even to limsa(less than 40ping 30 down/3 up). Even a 860 qvo on a ps4 pro can make a difference after this patch

  5. But I couldn’t find many actually upgrades 4K mode but 30 who wants that audio doesn’t sound 3D at all loads are fast but other than that it’s same as pro version on 5 if running 1440

  6. At least this is only the beta. I hope they can improve the frame rate in 4K mode. I just ran cloud deck in 4K and the frames dropped into the 20’s a couple times. The game isn’t super graphically demanding so hopefully it’s something they can just iron put

  7. where if I might ask did you find the software and tools to conduct these test? I have msi afterburner for my pc but am at a loss as to where to find this software as it would be nice to have a counter to watch as I play my games thank you if an answer is possible

  8. 4K is definitely a disappointment, there is a bottleneck somewhere because this game should be easily achievable at 4k60 with dips into the 50’s with its hardware. Sad sad day. Makes it not even worth it at the point as the UI scales to mode unlike its PC counterpart which gives you the option.

  9. Have you tried turning on performance mode in the ps5 system app settings and see if that makes the 4K mode in ffxiv have more frames per second?

  10. The graphics are a non issue BUT it seems due to the age of the mmo, it has cpu issues. Ff14 always had problems with ryzen cpus before it makes sense why it fluctuates so much here.

  11. For everyone thinking this is an issue with the PS5 itself, you're wrong. The issue is that this game's engine is optimized like shit. Even on modern PC hardware the game doesn't take full advantage of the hardware. It already never played well with AMD processors to begin with, so this isn't really the PS5 being too weak, it's this game's engine being outdated and honestly, needing to move to DX12 (or Vulkan, fuck, PLEASE.) instead of staying on DX11.
