  1. And to think this is not even close to as bad as unlocking the Moogle beast tribe in this area is. In part because the required quests were never given the "if you finish me, you'll unlock something later"-quest marker until you are nearly done unlocking it.

  2. You missed the comment of one of Kan-E-Senna's guards, completely taken aback that the moogles made her clean the floor or something like that.
    She doesn't even mention it. My respect for her went up 200% in this scene.

  3. fun fact: Twelveswood and Dravanian moogles have poms of different colors and different name traditions! You can see Kuplo Klopp (a Woodsmoogle) has a red pom and a name that sounds like "Kupo!" while the Moghome is full of "Mog-"s with pink poms.

    It's such a cute little detail

  4. Considering his general irascibility thus far, it's weird to me how much Estinien seems to like Alphinaud.

    It feels like the kid's general ponciness, extreme inexperience with the rougher side of life, and overall wide-eyed naiveté would grate on somebody like Estinien – especially given that he's probably not in a good mood to begin with. (And that's probably only amplified by his link to Nidhogg meaning that he gets the dragon's ire overlaid on his own.)

    And yet… Alphinaud seems to have won Estinien over? I suppose Estinien's comment to Alphinaud around the fire – about what he was doing at Alphie's age – might be part of it, but… Still a trifle confusing to me, I must admit.

  5. Honestly, 'risible', while not exactly positive, is rather a kinder word than I expected Estinien to use. At least in the modern day, it generally means 'funny, comedic, silly' – although more precisely, I think it's specifically '(that which) provokes laughter'.

    In Estinien's case I feel like he was using it more as 'laughable' or 'ridiculous' than 'humorous'.

  6. The Moogles truly are a delight always tbh. :3c

    I also really love the Tribe Quests for them, but I kind of got all my crafters to 60 during the last trust level which means the exp dropped severely. ;A; I’ll back get to it. Eventually. OTL;;

  7. Moogles. Always with the moogles. Your spoiler free lore comment is here to help us get through these moogle quests.

    The moogles have chores for everyone! Including Kan-e-Senna. The fact that her bodyguard is aghast at the idea of the Elder Seedseer, head of state of Gridania, preeminent white mage, and the woman who personally saved his life at the Battle of Carteneau, sweeping the floor of Moghome, never fails to tickle me. She even enjoys it! Probably beats being Director of the FBC Elder Seedseer.

    5:40 – I want all of you to observe that, for these purple circles, any player can attack the enemies that spawn. And multiple players can initiate their circles at the same time, spawning additional enemies. This will form the basis of a very good story much later in the story.

    The moogles of Moghome has a dubious reputation with the player base. They are one of the 3 tribes of Heavensward that provide daily quests for reputation, this time for the crafting classes. The big issue is that the unlock quests are seemingly unrelated, spread between vast distances, and were previously not properly marked with the "unlocks content" icon. There are multiple reddit posts of players attempting to figure out which sidequests are required to unlock the tribe. Between this issue and the fact that almost every interaction with the moogles tends to emphasize that they are incredibly lazy, one of my FC mates has taken to calling them "flying pot roasts". And that's the kind name!

    As this motely crew approaches Hraesvelgr's territory, we're getting into some excellent character building. We know of Alphinaud is the grandson of a prominent Sharlyan mage, but I think this is the first we hear of his father. And this is maybe the first bit of introspection from Estinien. He now acknowledges that Ishgard's history is likely a lie, but he is still The Azure Dragoon. He is determined to end the war, with an armistice if possible, but with strike directly against Nidhogg if necessary.

  8. Oh really like that cutscene around the campfire. It's so cozy and I love how the characters interacted with each other. The writing is getting better and better
