Final Fantasy 14 Gunbreaker Primer: Level 60 guide in detail

In this video, we take a look at the rotation of the Gunbreaker as it looks when you initially unlock it. We look at single target, as well as 2 target and larger AoE rotations. We spend a significant time talking about how No Mercy interacts with the rotation due to how big of an impact it makes on how Gunbreaker is played.

We also talk about how to use your other tools as a tank as a whole.

If you find some things are going a bit fast or a bit slow, I invite you to speed up, or slow down or even pause the video for your convenience!

  1. Welcome to Endwalker! Here are any significant changes related to this particular guide:
Lightning Shot no longer cancels your current combo, so you can freely use this when out of range from targets. Also, the range of Lightning Shot has been increased slightly.
As mentioned in the video, the Gnashing Fang combo has been consolidated to a single button.
Reverse Chronological order of patch changes below!

    Changes in 6.3:
Royal Guard now changes into "Release Royal Guard" when it is active, turning into a blue button that does… Literally the same thing as the button always did. This is just a visual change to more clearly indicate that pressing the button again will remove the buff.

    Changes in 6.2:
Brutal Shell and Solid Barrel got a slight potency boost.

    Changes in 6.1:
Royal Guards cooldown is now only 3 seconds, so you can more quickly swap out of it again.

  2. do you know why I can't equip wicked talon or savage claw to my hotbar ?? apparently the action can not be equipped to a hotbar yet you clearly have it in yours ?

  3. This guide and the tanking guide along with enmity guide really helped me to get ready to tank.

I was super interested in doing Gunbreaker, but after obtaining it (as my second class ever), I was super overwhelmed by all the skills you get given from the first moment you become one.

After watching this guide a few times, practicing on dummies for a little bit, I finally gained to courage to enter the duty roulette and tank! I did The Aery with some really patient folks, and after I let them know it was my first time they said "Thanks for tanking for us 🙂 ". The community is amazing, but also your guides helped me feel more confident and not like a fish out of water.

  4. Just a little confused about the rotation vs mitigation. You said to use the most potent mitigating ability first then less potent mitigation abilities afterwards but then you have camouflage early in the opener.
