  1. Hey, everyone I hope you enjoy the video. It's been a lot of fun diving into the story of WoW. Wanted to say this here because people WILL notice later into the video but a part of it got copyrighted. I tried and tried to work around it but YouTube flagged it anyways. So if a small part of the video about an hour in randomly cuts off to the next segment, thats why. Sorry for the trouble, I tried my best…

  2. That disconnect honestly summarizes the entire expansion imo, the garosh stuff was connected, but everything else was a bit off from the feeling of the rest of the game. It was good, it just didn't really fit.

And as for Voljin choosing sylvanas as his successor, he was tricked. His Loa is the Loa of death, Sylvanas worked with her own spirits of death. struck a deal with something stronger tyhan the loa, the visions he saw that made him choose her were orchestrated by sylvanas.

  3. It's weird reading your twitch chat. Half the time it someone saying bad information that other people have to correct. "It's fan made" With no context then realising it's part of the game.

  4. Yikes what the hell is Wrathion doing in that video. Please disregard those homemade cinematics about the black dragon boy, its some random writers self-insert that is pretty much entirely irrelevant to the story. And lame. So lame.

  5. Cataclysm will soon be in classic but yea firelands is in retail wow but isn't end game anymore. It was back in 2011. I remember the fangs of the father questline. It required you to dragon soul multiple times to get 2 legendary daggers for assassination rogues

  6. You should talk to someone who has played for a long time and knows the lore. You always seem to guess what’s happening correctly but the smaller things I think you could use someone to explain it. I know that’s not on brand but there are parts that I think would be so much more impactful if you knew what was going on. There is so much to this lore, what has happened, and what will happen. It’s insane.

  7. Warlords of Draenor is an infamous expansion.

It's release coincided with the Warcraft movie releasing in theaters. So it was back in the mainstream zeitgeist.

The WoW playerbase numbers peaked in Wrath of the Lich King and slowly declined after it, but with Warlords of Draenor the population swelled back to the Wrath of the Lich King numbers.

WoD had an engaging leveling experience but end game was much to be desired and the numbers tanked so much Blizzard stopped sharing them.

Most major patches get tons of new features at least and usually new areas or new raids. However the first major patch of WoD only added a selfie camera and twitter integration. I shit you not. It did not go over well. This was followed by the second patch that was deemed the last of the expansion because they pivoted to getting the next expansion out faster since WoD was not doing well. Mists of Pandaria had 4 major patches for reference.

WoD has the most amount of cut content. The Blizzcon announcement of the expansion is almost entirely cut content. From dynamic home bases you could build to choosing which zone you started in to another continent and island that were cut. It was much more rigid than promised.

Class balance was kind of all over the place. Warlocks for example were doing significantly worse in raw DPS and their playstyle ran counter to how boss and raids were designed. This ended with Blizzard throwing in the towel and saying Warlocks would not be fixed until the next expansion. This was said after the initial release. As a dedicated warlock myself, it was rough.

Many of the warlords were killed in zone quests and 5 player dungeons and the first raid. So it kind of sucked the hype out of the expansion.

They introduced level boosts for cash this expansion as well. It went over like it did in FFXIV. Lots of people complaining about it but eventually it died down.

In the end it was an alternate timeline so after it was basically forgotten about and discarded. It's been used a couple times since though and has some potential.

It wasn't all bad though. Gold making was at an all time high. Leveling was really fun and the in game cutscenes were tight. Some class specializations were unique and fun like Warriors getting to play DPS with a sword and shield. Lords of War series is still my favorite animatic. Still a very unique experience in retail that laid a lot of groundwork for how the following expansions would be structured.

Also you know how FFXIV all the MSQ are sequential. Like you can't just skip to Shadowbringers at level 10 (without paying). Well retail WoW you can. Every expansion is it's own story line and progression so it's easy to get off track. The game has added more rails to follow though over time but you don't have to go through all the previous expansions to get to the current or any previous one. Classic WoW is more akin to FFXIV where you progress through the expansions, but you can skip to the next one once you reach a certain level. Sorry for the novel, looking forward to the next one!

  8. sadge you skipped shaohao tho ngl. The struggle of good content will always be there i suppose but if you really wanna invest in the story even those help, again, i suppose. really love your style tho. Feels really cozy and homely

  9. All one can do is sigh at the warlords shorts. The expansion had potential, but dropped the ball SO hard its ridiculous. Only Warlord that even got a (somewhat) proper arc was Blackhand (who is funnily not the one left out of this video).

  11. Classic is pretty much just the game starting new and by that the expansions are also added ony by one, partyl with extra stuff on top of that.

Not exactly sure, but the first thing you saw should be from "Cataclysm", which comes after Wrath of the Lich King the current state of WoW classic and is said to be release in 2024.

Classic is by the way 'gratis' – in the way that you don't need to buy anything to play it, you just need to pay the montly sub, which is retail AND classic, you get both with it. For retail also all addons before the current one become free (= you don't have to pay for the addon itself anymore).

  12. Voljin chose Sylvanas because he was manipulated by Death (or more exactly forces inside the cosmic power) to do though. Before Sylvanas opened everyone's eyes to it by creating a hole into the barrier between reality and the Shadowlands with the power a god of Death has shared with her, mortals knew very little about it (as it's also the case about pretty much all other realms of the other cosmic forces). There were some vague ideas about the Shadowlands, some mages were able to take a glimpse into it, but more like looking at earth from space – and the Shadowlands are said to be endless – and know in general that they exist, but that's it. Mortals are overall mostly pawns in the war between the cosmic forces, even the most powerful ones and you rarely got mortals like Sylvanas who fully go against them and try to change the system not for some other cosmic power or just stopping another one to destroy everything, but to improve the standing and understanding of mortals. What in the end might be the only way out of it, since there simply is no "good" cosmic force. Every cosmic force on its own is desastrous for mortals and only works by being countered by the others, creating a fragile balance of them in which they are also in constant war about.

For these forces of Death that manipulated Voljin it was necessary to get a bigger stream of mortal souls to them in a short time to get enough power for their plans and Sylvanas knew this already at this point.

She was still surprised by it, since her link to the Raelm of Death before she could use that power to shatter the barrier to it, wasn't exactly strong, like being behind enemy lines with no contact to your head quarter.

  13. That Ordem guy in your chat is ridiculous, whining the whole time how the lore was destroyed, utterly unable to give a single example since he clearly got no clue.

But that's Blizzard and its crybaby crowd. So sad.

FF14 fanboys at least enjoy the game they praise for no reason. But the WoW crybabies hate the game for no reason, that's just retarded.
