  1. This beautiful story is just SIDE CONTENT. The love and attention to story, in almost every form, optional and required content, is one of the treasures of this game. I am very happy you got a chance to partake in this one. Once you guys finish 5.55 I look forward to you going back the others.

Also, this raid series has been def heavy on the FF8 references, including that beautiful petal burst at the end.

  2. That ending was reminiscent of the one from Final Fantasy 8, when they finally found each other and got transported to that place they promised to meet. <3

Might I also recommend doing the Sorrows of Werlyt? If you love beautiful sidequest stories, I think this is a excellent choice.

  3. Eden's Promise design, while looking like a pinecone, is actually based on ancient depictions of the deity. Glad you enjoyed the series, though going through blind is a little more exciting and entertaining imo šŸ˜‰

  4. Thank you for sharing your journey through the game so far its oddly satisfying seeing others enjoy the game that even I cant help but recommend to everyone.

only 2 more bits of content yall have left to do in Shadowbringers (well combat content) the 24 man raids and the last 3 trials. The story that goes with the trials is something that I both do and don't want to recommend you go see. Bits that made me so painfully uncomfortable and bits that just tear your guts out and left me in tears….yeah its a hard sell 100% worth going and do it but…

  5. So nice to see you finish this raid šŸ™‚
I have some more information for you about that last fight. I don't think you do, but in case you plan to do the Savage (heroic/mythic) version of this fight blind you should stop reading here, as I will add spoilers for the savage version.

In Savage there is a "Oracle of Darkness" hidden phase. Its really nice. Maybe you want to take a look in some youtube video. There you actually fight Gaia herself.
Just search for "E12S transition", "E12S" or "E12S phase 2".

  6. See, the fight against the Cloud of Darkness made me want to take my WoL aside and ask her why she's so horny on main. That was not how the CoD looked in the Crystal Tower raid. That thing did not look like a bikini/lingerie wearing super model, and yet that is how my WoL remembers her; with a heart-mark on her forehead at that!

Also that final scene with Ryne and Gaia… A pair standing in a literal garden of Eden, next to a rainbow crystal.

  7. E12 boss is based off a real life statue of Artemis in Naples. Artemis being Mitron's real name, and also Ultimecia in FF8 was actually a mistranslation and supposed to be Artemesia (based on translations to other languages).

  8. Heh, "Pride Crystal" (with Ryne and Gaia flanking it) is a fun screenshot. Theyā€™re a cute couple.

Gaia (as the Ascian) was the one Emett mentioned back in likeā€¦. Raktika. On the plus the Scions now have a friendly Ascian on call. This gives a means for Ryne to surprise Thancred on the Source. If this wonā€™t be relevant next expansion Iā€™ll eat my hat.

Hmm, I missed Gaia calling Mitron Artemisā€¦ the Ascians really are just the ancient Greek gods arenā€™t they, lol. (Which does bring up an interesting theory about next expansion and the WoL)

Also, that clutch healer LB3, lol.

  9. Don't feel bad about using the Wind-Up Gaia. You can't trade it anyways.

The game makes it so you can't roll on any untradeable items you already have, so over time as more people get things like minions it becomes easier for those without them to get them.

  10. No need to worry too much about missing out on the minions and other things from Normal and Savage Raids, and Alliance Raids as well. They are guaranteed drops now. If you were to form a group to run the same raid a few times, everyone there would be able to get their rewards, since the weekly restrictions were removed.

  11. One of the things I really love about this game is that it lets you play at whatever level you want. If you donā€™t want to raid, thereā€™s a normal version that gives you story and gear, but doesnā€™t punish you for not going deeper. Or, if you just want the base game, the raids give more detail but the overarching story is still intact. The 60 and 70 raids give you more time with Cid that gives you some background to his knowledge that led to Shadowbringers, and Eden gives you more time and wrap up to Ryne and the first but you donā€™t need it. Just beautiful nuggets of story love. Also, fun details for that last fight, the men in the cages on her thighs disappear when youā€™re fighting them as adds, same as the lions on her shoulders, etc. And if Sophie wants the minions, they are a guaranteed drop for each final boss of the tier, you can always run 8 and 12 again to get Ryne and Gaia. Love watching you guys <3

  12. I'm farming Eternity for the card and legit laughed so much at hearing all the things I said as I got better at this fight. I still space off sometimes and die after almost 20 runs.

  13. Definitely recommend Shadows of Werelyt for a story line to play through. It's incredibly done and you learn quite a bit more about Gaius. I've been loving watching your journey through this fantastic game.

  14. If you go back to your recording of Amourant you will find that Mitrah and Logrif are both teased. There is an npc that says the titles of a few members of the Convocation, all of which are the Ascions that we had met to that point, execpt for these two. This was our first tease of the Ascions we had yet to meet.

I would also like to second the recommendation that you do the Sorrows of Werlyt next.
