  2. Give me back SB drk, I miss drk being more than 1 2 3, sometimes 4 and sometimes edge. SB drk was so much fun with how you got to manage and optimize gauge and mana gains vs spending them, and now its just 1 2 3 and dont cap on gauge and mana then dump them in a buff window and back to 1 2 3, its really really borring. Also it would be great if they could finally make Living Dead not feel so bad for drk, it's completely reliant on the healers so if they are new or just dont have the right heals up you will just die

  3. War has been my favorite since ARR. Pld put me to sleep in lv 50 dungeons, I kid you not in ARR I was 1 hand on naga and half a sleep tanking through most dungeons, whm was the same way. WAR always felt more active then. DRK kinda lost me at 40 in HW, I might pick it back up before EW, but I'm leveling 8 other jobs between 53 and 76, and I'm thinking about picking up DNC, too, when DRG and RDM get to 60. trying to figure out a dps alternative to SMN if SE doesn't change it up again. I have pld and gnb at 63 atm, pld is atleast more interesting than it was in ARR, gbn seems alright so far, we'll see how I feel at max with them. WAR will very likely be my first to cap, though, in EW because its been my MSQ rp main since mid ARR msq.

The thing i wish they change for Warrior is the Beast Gauge skills, so few skills on warrior that needs Beast Gauge, i wish they would change that, like they could change the Cyclone AoE to non-beast gauge useage and lower the potency to have it as a third aoe for warrior, to feel like a "Warrior" a Berserk, overall im happy how Warrior overall plays, just certain Beast Gauge skills should be changed.

    Or…. remove overpower and keep mythril tempest as first aoe and cyclone as second that would change alot of the overall "WAR feeling", for the other jobs?
    I like em how they are and PLD is my main, few skill can be removed like Intervention lets be honest how often do you use it in a tight situation lol 6s is in certain situations not worth the Oath Gauge.

    but those WAR changed are mainly for dungeon purposes for raiding be bit more but dont want to make a very long wall of text

  5. Warrior main since ARR launch.
    I enjoy drk and gunbreaker.
    Really just not interested in paladin.

    I think the love warrior needs is its stances back.

    I cant speak for pld or drk bc i didnt try them when stances were a thing in heavensward. But for warrior it was awesome to say ok i have enough hate built up let me dps a little.

    Knowing when and how to stance swap could mean the difference between a slow slog and a sprint.

    Of course it would mean making agro matter again, which terrified a lot of people off playing tank.

  6. For me I enjoy drk the most followed by war then gnb and pld last. Gnb and pld rotation is way to static for me. That's why I prefer dark and war. You can change stuff around and you will be fine. I play drk more over war because war is a bit too simple and drk has the blackest night which is extremely satisfying to use.

  7. What if Onslaught would apply a DoT AOE with Warrior at the center? Like the Warrior venting their anger type of AOE. Either that or give Warrior a new gap closer, cause the tiny damage becomes more and more irrelevant the further you go even if it’s a beast gauge dump

  9. GNB is honestly the best between about 16-30 for leveling roulette or whatever, just because brutal shell is level 4. But I mean, are any of the tanks fun in low level content? Low level content is super boring no matter what. Also, I keep hearing that Warrior is the only tank with a cone attack, but that's missing DRK's flood of darkness (ok it's a line, but that has the same issues as a cone). Also, think PLD is just as good at soloing as WAR… maybe just takes a bit more skill.

  10. I feel like synced content shouldnt take abilities away from you and instead just nerf them heavily.. You know? Sync them. Idk if it would work great but that way it isnt so jarring doing synced content

  11. Great discussion being new to FFXVI but been tanking for decades in other MMos. Between the paladin a warrior the only two I have played so far the paladin resonates with me and the tool kit is very familiar and comfortable to me coming over from other mmos

  12. If you play this on a computer, why would you use a controller? You stated yourself that controller sucks for a Paladin. Controlers are sub par nowadays, especially with peripherals like the Azeron. Azeron with mouse is crazy good.

  13. They need to get the essence of these jobs' gameplay unlocked in the level 30 to 50 range. If the job only feels like it has its distinguishing kit and rotation/flow at such high levels, it's gonna feel gimped in the majority of the game's pre-established dungeons. Monk and ninja don't have this problem, that's for sure. Those bare essentials stay the same bare essentials all the way up to current level. All the higher level ability unlocks should be tertiary QoL situational stuff, not stuff like GNB's Continuation which is part of its core identity. Even if these jobs unlock at high levels, they need to be designed as if they didn't, as if they were one of the starting classes of ARR.

  14. I think paladin will always be best tank purely because it can heal anytime it wants, including others, repeatedly, no cooldown, and because it has a true actual unconditional classic invuln. I only found a favorite tank after GNB got added in because of its unique-ish job gauge system, at least relative to the other tanks, but at the end of the day every job besides paladin has the same abilities but with conditions and strings attached. Because of its self-heal, it seems to always be the best job to do solo content with too.

  15. I have more tank anxiety since they made it "simpler" because now everyone wants pulls to be larger/faster than I found fun. I enjoyed the more brutal and methodical tanking.

  16. lately, the "insta" que for tanks … has been replaced, with healer being the role in need, and tanks waiting around like i did with my dps. Im sure this will change with 6.0, but currently, leveling my DRK and GNB is taking way more time for roulettes than it ever did before.

  17. I started with paladin since I had a bunch of gear. It was eh OK, but then got into warrior and really loved playing as a warrior touch gun breaker a little. Haven't touched dark knight yet

  18. i really think its situational. i prefer dark and gunbreaker myself. if i am doing a light party i prefer dark just in case theres a mass wipe, i can finish the fight myself with the blackest night spam. but if i am in a full party or raid i would prefer gunbreaker because of the extra dps and off tank. though i think that WAR is definately the more balanced because of their self sustainability and raw power.

  19. WAR, DRK, GNB, PLD. PLD just feels clunky and boring at the same time. I got all Tanks, MDPS and RPDPS at 71 right now for the Soul of War achievement and PLD/BRD are my absolute least favorites with WAR/MNK/DNC being my favorites. I love alternating between WAR/DRK though

  20. I'm a Paladin Main and it's the only class I play(Been playing off and on since ARR). Heres my wishlist for Endwalker.
    1.Shield Bash. Thia ability is straight ass and serves no purpose. It should be removed or made to Combo with our Sword rotation. Perhaps it could give a Block Chance buff like Bulwark did back in the day.
    2. Spirits Within. This ability just feels meh. I'd like to see the HP scaling dropped and for it to give much more MP back or some new effect.
    3. Cover. This ability has too short of a range and is highly situational. It needs as range buff and damage mitigation (100% block chance while active)
    4.Atonement. It needs reworked somehow, it's too hard to fit all three into a 2x Goring Blade FoF rotation.
    5. Give us a Rez! Make it a high MP cost and or long ass cooldown. Would be really play into our class being the support tank.
    6. Update our VFX! GNB, DRK and WAR all are some much flashier than us, we should have holy fiery glows and explosions too!

  21. Best Tank? The one that gets the most bitches. In other words: Paladin. If you disagree with me you are wrong. If you agree with me… YOU'RE WRONG!
    Tbh tho as someone who mains Tank on my static (Paladin and Gunbreaker mainly but did play Dark Knight too.) I think the Tanks are so awesome because theres someone for everyone! And there so perfectly balanced even in terms of dps, there very close to one another, so you can genuinely just rock what you love and it will very much work (if you know what you are doing XD).

  22. are there any videos on Tank Rotations? i have a few maxed, and have been playing well. but wanted to see how to compare rotations. as I am hoping to do some endgame content as tank now.
