  1. Great walkthrough, Getting error code still….. I have full version on steam but trying to log in with non steam account. Did the steps outlined in the first half of the video. Game downloads updates and allows me to log in on the normal log in screen. When I log in I get an error in Japanese wording (don't know what is says Cause I cant read Japanese). But it has an triangle error symbol in the front and Japanese lettering after. This is the furthest It will let me go.

  2. I use the word version a lot and I seem to have mis-conveyed some stuff in my video.
When I say Steam version or Non-steam version, I am actually talking about account version. Obviously the game you're running is the steam version, but not all accounts are steam accounts.
So the first half of the video is for non steam accounts and the second half is for accounts activated through steam!

  3. Worked like a charm. Well done.
For non steam licenses, I found easier installing the DEMO version and downloading everything again. For who is struggling to transfer the windows version by SSD card to the steam deck.
    Using the "ADD GAME" option.

  4. Did everything up to the point of navigating to .local/share/Steam/steamapps/compdata/312060/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/my documents….

And there is no My Games folder. I also checked the documents folder, still nothing.

I don't get it. This is the second tutorial to go through these exact same steps, and after following them to a tee, I keep getting stuck here.

Even uninstalled and reinstalled the Trial, and attempted to run it, so maybe it would generate the folder.

Seriously no clue where I'm going wrong here.

  5. Thanks for the tutorial, the written guide is super helpful too. Non-steam account. Only caveat was that the FFXIV_BOOT.cfg file isn't created until I run the free trial from within gaming mode at least once. Don't have to do anything in the free trial, just run it, wait for it to get to the point where it stops loading stuff (it stopped on a blank grey-ish screen for me), then close the game, go to desktop mode, and the boot file will be there. Everything else worked perfectly, now I just have to set up my hotbars for controller, since I usually play on kbm on my desktop pc.
