  5. I just don't really enjoy M+. I think I just don't really like the scaling difficulty and also affixes on top of it. Give me like 3 versions so I can shoot for the hardest one and be done. After I type that I realize I'm describing criterion lol. (that said, I've never done it with a consistent group -I'd probably like it a lot more if I had a consistent group)

  9. I feel like Criterion Savage could be that missing midcore content, if only there was more incentive to grind them. I feel like a lot of players will be happy to do all the normal mode story paths and quit after they get their mount, so I don’t see any reason for that to change. It's the Savage content.

    Something more needs to come from Savage in terms of reward. In Ultimate, you do it for the weapon, and the title. I feel like if Criterion Savage had its own flex items, like maybe distinctive gear, there would be more incentive to farm them. By flex, I mean, like Ultimate, not precisely BiS, just something that shows the whole community, "I did this incredibly hard side content, and here's proof I can rock while sitting in Limsa doing MB business." There would be a reason to go back and get these armors on multiple jobs. Hell, as someone not that interested in Ultimate, I would love to grind out Crit Savage if it had flex gear that you can't get anywhere else.

    That feels like the best way to do it, while avoiding the pitfalls of Mythic +. As a former 14-year WoW player, I hope the key system never comes to FFXIV. Being able to screw over someone's entire prog just by disconnecting, or having to leave for irl reasons is horrible game design. It makes people become parse Nazis for fear of getting their key wasted. It's toxic af.
