FFXIV Weeb Reacts to Dragonflight Trailer – WOW

Blizzard’s Dragonflight (DF) has finally released, and this FF14 weeb is at the final stage of his journey. The last World of Warcraft trailer I react to. A cinematic that involves titans, dragons, additional pylons and ripping off scenes from Final Fantasy XIV Heavensward. JK pls don’t cancel. This WOW expansion feels interesting. It feels like more than just new content, story & gameplay. The MMO and Blizzard have been in a rough state for a while, but they’ve also had 2 years to turn things around and improve the product. Maybe I’m just a 35 year old boomer, but I’ve got a good feeling about it overall. It feels like it might the return of WOW. That said, I was 10 hours & 10 beers into stream by the time I reacted to this, so I’m not as sharp, funny or GENIUS as I usually am. Apologies in advance for my drunken stumbling. Hope you enjoy the reactions, commentary, highlights and funny moments.

  2. Disclaimer: This was 10 hours into stream (and 10 beers), and I was little sloppier than usual. That said, here is my reaction to the Dragonflight trailer.

At first this trailer didn’t grab me. But in the context of WOW & Blizzard’s low point these last couple years, I’ve been thinking about it differently. Now I actually like that it’s somber and uplifting. It feels like WOW and Blizzard’s attempt at a redemption arc. I hope it succeeds. I just started playing it today, and it's mad fun so far.

  3. Your chat! Ugh. Nonsense. These are not the Titans. They are the watchers. Built by the Titans to oversee the various facilities across Azeroth. There are only a handful of actual Titans that we know about. There is Aman'Thul, the Highfather. Presiding over Time itself. Eonar, the Lifebinder. Whom oversees life and nature. Norgannon, Keeper of Magic. Whom oversees Arcane magic and secrets. Golganneth, Lord of Sky and Water. Oversees the elements of air and water and keeps them in balance. Khaz'goroth. The Shaper. Builder of all things. Aggramar. The second in command of Titanic forces. Then finally… Sargeras. The Commander of the Titanic Forces. Betrayer. Succumbed to corruption and freed the very demons he had fought for eons. He became the ruler of the Burning Legion. Master of Fel energies.

There are three others. Including Azeroth herself. The planet has a world soul within its core, a soul that when born will become a Titan. Allegedly. She is said to be the most powerful Titan that will ever exist. That's why the Titans went through so much trouble to protect and cultivate Azeroth.

Do I need a life? No. Bite me. Life sucks. Fantasy is forever. … Or something like that. I dunno. I'm going back to my goddamned cave now.
