Autoattacks are ~9% of your overall damage (assuming single target) so…. a 50% increase 16.6% of the time is just under 1% of your total damage. Does it matter? Yes, but only in content where positionals and aligning buff windows matter.

SCH auto-attacks matter so much, sometimes you can even hit for over 100! Strongest healer auto-attacks by a significant margin, we're basically hybrid melee dps. Bosses only have what, like a few million health? SCH can easily solo that with auto-attacks and art of war, honestly – you're actually doing your party a favor by not doing that, so that everyone else has a chance to at least use their cooldowns.
