I always had a hard time distinguishing the two themes and now having them "side by side", yeah, they're very very similar – I can't even say which one I like more.
This one is more piano and so very expressive (which makes me think it might be Keiko playing if she was already a part of the team back then).
The other one is more of the mythical orchestra with that beautiful not-glockenspiel sound (what is that instrument? XD)
But the theme in general is one of my favorite in the game, no matter which version ♡
It's part two. Some dungeons are used twice when you return to clean up the mess you made solving the original problem. As for the beetle, it is an enemy chasing the party as they basically are gathering every enemy they can to make one big kill zone.
Yukiko Takada is credited as the arranger for this, so this would be her playing it. Seems like this really is just a straightforward piano arrangement. The original had like, bass and those sleigh bell sounding things.
You made the same mistake we all did in the first few weeks of 2.0's release way back in 2013. We were all calling it Ampador until we realized it's Amdapor.
Not sure if it was said on the Scars of Battle, but lore-wise Amdapor was a city of white mages (using power borrowed from the elementals) who rose to power to combat the black mages (generally using power from the void/enslaving voidsent) of Mhach in the War of the Magi. The power of their magic kept escalating until the elementals had enough and caused the Great Flood which destroyed both Amdapor and Mhach (and a handful of other cities around during the conflict).
You can see from the first area here and the entirety of the first vid the elementals are slowly reclaiming the city (hence all the growth and fungi). The deeper areas of this level in particular (not sure if they'll show it here) give you a much better glimpse into what the city looked like and the magics they used. Imo this is why there is such a difference in the sound of this theme vs the Scars of Battle
Once he already reacted to the " Battle With the Four Fiends" I hope he will try Barbariccia and Rubicate soonnnnnn
Lost City is such a great homage to Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind, with the giant insects and fungi covering the city , and the music reminiscent of Joe Hisaishi's score.
Can somebody request the songs from yugioh máster duel??, they rooock
The main difference I hear is that this version is almost exclusively Piano.. another similar song in the same vein would be "Neath Dark Waters"
SEKIRO – The Owl please, that one is truly incredible
It's been awhile since I've heard the original on this channel so I don't really remember the song (not because it's forgettable but because I listen to a lot of vgm).
Nice atmosphere that takes me into a very peaceful area, I like how the staccato notes remind me of rain. This song really fits the setting, great piano playing here with a lot of expression. I can imagine a setting of something forgotten with a mysterious history which makes sense with the name of the song. The higher piano notes remind of raindrops falling, not a lot to say on this one. But I enjoyed it but I enjoy solo piano pieces in general so not surprising.
the video is giving me ptsd watching the gun caster, good old heavensward mch
There are identical in the core, but some little shifting to pure piano. BUt quite relaxing.
I remember that song, because the rate for dropping that one is quite low, so it was one of he hardest to get from any dungeons. I did 40+ runs to get the orchestrion scroll 🙂 and on Market Board the prizes were around 2 mil
Being that you enjoy Piano, if you haven't heard her yet, you might like to check out Vienna Teng — her music isn't VGM, just complete ear candy. When I think of piano, the first piece that comes to mind, for me, is almost always her "Gravity" while other instruments flow through it, her voice and the piano take center stage. I have a feeling you'd enjoy her.
I love that they always finding ways to sneak in the crystal prelude in their compositions
I'm happy you watched this soon after you've missed the opportunity in your first vid about Amdapor 🙂
Helo new Kirby game released so I suggest to hear both 101 Mistilteinn, Tree Crown Without a Ruler
And
102 Settling a Score ~ Atone for One's Misdeeds!
For anyone that enjoys piano-heavy themes, this is a treat despite being a bit short. The grand second verse is always lovely.
