  1. To be honest, i see 7.0 as the last time we will get new jobs for about 5 years or so. The reason i say that is cause he does not want to go above level 100, so i see them possible doing a champions level system of some sort which will boost or augment existing jobs.

Giving each job maybe another spec or swap of there current profession, ie Tank to DPS or Healer to DPS or something along those line.

IMO the jobs of 7.0 will be two DPS's, Mystic Knight (or something similar, i mean look at Clive) and Geomancer

  2. I think the most likely will be a caster and/or another dex job, either ranged or phys that shares gear with NIN, and one of them will be a DoT job. Those seem like the obvious holes to be filled. I could see another pure damage caster to fit alongside BLM but with DoTs as the central theme(Green Mage as pure offense and debuffing enemies, or something like Exorcist like Bravely Default, that has also appeared in game already, or go crazy and make Patissier). And I'm holding out hope for a weird job like Blitzball, Gambler or Juggler or something.

Honestly though, I just hope whatever we get actually plays very different from other jobs. It's been getting too homogenous for my taste.

  3. Judge (JDG) NEEDS to be a tank. Another tank that should utilize the offhand slot; like PLD. It’s gimmick should use the Red/Yellow card system from tactics. Red (Arrest) should increase attack and crit by 3% for 15 seconds on a 2 charge cooldown. Yellow (Caution) should increase defense by 5% for 15 seconds on a 2 charge cooldown. Also, certain skills, maybe ogcd’s, should only be available while under the red or yellow card. But yea I definitely agree w/ Judge as a Tank; the lore for it is pretty solid too. This was a great video nice job.

  4. While a lot of these would be fantastic jobs, here are some reasons I doubt they’ll do some of these (even likely ones):

    1) They probably won’t do one new healer as it would offset the balance of pure and shield healers. Maybe if they had one that could be either (like AST used to be), but I somehow doubt it.

    2) They probably won’t do another tank as (iirc) they want there to be a balance in tank and healer numbers.

    3) Any job (like gambler) that would have RNG in it is definitely out. 3.0 AST cards used to provide different effects based on the card pulled and endgame players hated it.

What I, personally, see coming in the next expansion is a caster and another DEX based melee, as Scouting gear is the only type left with only one job using it.

  5. Personally, I think Necromancer would be a blood healer. We have the edgy tank and now the edgy DPS… give us the edgy healer! You fill a blood gauge as you damage the enemies and then expend it for burst heals or burst DPS. Plus, all Healers are necromancers if they’re not quick enough to save the party. It was a job in FFV, and people keep asking for it, and we now have precedent for it in the form of the Hero’s Gauntlet boss. Not sure where that note about Yoshi P. saying no is coming from, but I want to *believe*.

  6. We are overdue for another magic ranged and another physical ranged, but I think next job might give us another Scouting job to increase gear sharing efficiency like reaper did for dragoon’s maiming stuff.

I could see beastmaster being a new limited job, fighting monsters and then taking them for battles later.

Maybe Chemist could work sort of like Ninja’s mudras, just mixing potions instead of gang signs.

I’d love to see Necromancer as a blood healer. Pure heals. Fill a pool of blood as you damage the enemies and then use that for burst heals or DPS… your dot is literally using the enemy’s blood to kill them from the inside out.

Geomancer would be a shield healer, but since we just got sage, I’m betting it’s not happening this Time around.

Puppeteer for Tank! The puppet is the focus/target of the aggro, you’d get cool string attacks and manipulation effects. And the player could hang out with the BLM while tanking 😂.

Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.

  7. Why having 2 range next expansion ? I mean ranged physical and casting are ranged and doing so you’re penalizing people who play close range classes, in every expansion every classes added was in the form of a long range class (long range physical, casting or healing) and a close range (melee and tank). Marketing wise it is better to cover those 2 types of jobs and we need another scouting gear class. So yeah it is a Casting class and scouting for 7.0 and not another ranged dps, it’s not always a question of what is missing and more about getting those sells and pleasing everyone at same the time.

  8. The ultimate problem is how a Job would fit into FFXIV's rigid combat system. The combat system doesn't really have room for things like a buffer Job or an AOE/Cleave focused Job. Every Job has to fit into the standard single target boss model, and Jobs having to be within a certain percentage damage of one another, and within Roles, stuff like Tanks needing to have the right set of defensive cooldowns and Healers healing cooldowns and so on and so forth.

With that caveat out of the way:

    .

    Most Likely:

Chemist – As a healer, would actually make a lot of sense. Could make kind of a hybrid between MCH and WHM or SGE.

Geomancer – They've said before it's basically AST, but it would probably be more of a CNJ as a full Job, which is possible as WHM doesn't really do the elemental stuff as much.

Oracle – Arguably under the "POSSIBLE but in a different form" section, but Oracle or Onimyju (if anyone did the Ranged DPS Role quest in EW, you know who I'm talking about) I could see. A shrine priest type Job with ringed staves and sacred sutras like Miroku from Inuyasha might be a different take on a Healer Job. I'm not sure they WILL add it, but it's probably one of the more likely option, especially if we ever go to Hingashi.

    .

    Somewhat Likely:

Green Mage – As a DoT mage (old SMN), this could work, though the Devs seem to want to move AWAY from those kind of things. The Devs are iffy on hybrid/support Jobs, and debuffs aren't a big thing in this game. And they can't be if it would highly benefit one DPS Job and make it must have for parties. It would have to have low utility/support (no more than DNC or RDM have), and require the Devs to retract their anti-DoT policy, but it could happen.

Time Mage – Also fits here as basically the same thing as Green Mage above. A DoT focused Job with some light party support buffs. Basically short term time effects (like Gaia and DoTs), possibly a Res (time reversal) like SMN and RDM, but probably just some slight buffs and mostly DoT damage and some Gravity/Demi/Comet related time-space spells. Remember: We could always unlock Jobs from other places, like the First. And Gaia was basically a Time Mage of sorts. And from a lore standpoint, we already can do things like Black Mage. I doubt minor influences on time in the form of haste spells or "aging/weathering" an opponent (DoTs) would be too outside of the scope of possibility. (I say this as a person that hates DoTs and would never play the Job, but it's not impossible.

    .

    Possible Limited Jobs:

Beastmaster – Possible as a limited Job. As a full Job, it would have to work like SMN, but that makes less sense than summoning aetheric temporary beings.

Puppetmaster – Possible as a limited Job. Unlike Beastmaster, having short term Mammet pets in combat makes more sense (MCH does it), but yeah.

    .

    Somewhat Unlikely:

Berserker – We have WAR as a Tank, but having a DPS option would make some sense. I don't see it as particularly likely, but it's somewhat possible. Unlike Mystic Knight, there ISN'T a DPS Job with this aesthetic (even though there is a Tank), so having a DPS with this system would probably work.

Viking – Same as Berserker, though "Viking" is a irl name, so it wouldn't make sense in Etheyris. It's more likely it'd be Berserker.

Holy Knight – Like Berserker, there isn't a non-Tank version of this archetype, so it's possible they could add a DPS form of it (Maiming gear?), and that could fit into the game. Not everyone who likes these archetypes likes playing a Tank. Though I don't think this is very likely.

Gun Mage – As a unique take on Caster, could be possible. But would probably be like SMN as a "Caster without cast times", and so not sure if people would want that.

    .

    Highly Unlikely:

Gambler – EXTREMELY unlikely. People already complain about a 2% damage difference over the course of a 100 min fight due to bad RNG. Moreover, AST already has this feel.

Mystic/Rune Knight – Largely we already have this as we have both PLD and RDM. While there are ways to make it distinct, we have both a Tank and DPS Job that do this, as you noted, and Mystic Knight probably wouldn't be that different. It's strange to me, given what you say about Berserker, that you think a Job that already has both a Tank (PLD) and DPS (RDM) version would be added…

Judge – Just doesn't make sense for the WoL to be a Judge. While a Legatus type thing might be possible, we have GNB in there already as well. So while it could happen, I'm not sure if it's too likely.

Mime – Agreed. Just no. It doesn't make sense and doesn't really work with the game's mechanics.

Necromancer – Agreed. I think Yoshi P has even mentioned that they'll never do it since it's just too evil and taboo worldwide irl.

Onion Knight – The name already exists in game related to the guard corps of the Allegan Empire. While they COULD use that lore hook to make a Job – they made an entire Job out of Squal in GNB and made SGE basically from scratch – but I do agree it's pretty unlikely.

Corsair – Again, RNG (Gambler) is bad, and we have the MCH sitting right here in the game. While they could possibly do it – the Job you're thinking about from 1.X was the Musketeer, which they didn't ever implement but WAS planned – I agree it's unlikely.

Songstress – You mean Singer? Or…Bard? 🙂 Pretty unlikely, since it'd have to be unisex, and that's…basically the BRD.

Mascot – Yeah…no. 🙂 Sides, Y'Shtola is already the mascot of the game, right? And as you say, players already manage to fight in ridiculous outfits. 😀

Illusionist – This one's actually an interesting idea, but it's hard to say how it would fit into FFXIV's rigid battle system. They COULD do a SGE and make this into something completely different, but right now, I think it's more in the Highly Unlikely category. The biggest issue here is FFXIV's battle system doesn't really have a spot in the raid scene for a Job that does good AOE damage but less single target, etc.

    .

POSSIBLE, though in a different form:

Calculator – AS IT EXISTS IN FINAL FANTASY TACTICS, very unlikely since the way it worked in that game based on stuff like height and level and so on and so forth. BUT, as some NEW VERSION OF IT, like Sage? I could see that…

Devout – See SGE. It'd basically be a new version of the Job with FFXIV unique lore and mechanics, like as not.

  9. Yoshi-P said that jobs would be added outside of Final Fantasy, this might mean picking jobs from titles like Bravely Default series?

    Tank: Bastion
We need another tank who focuses more on party protection and someone else who can use shield like paladin

    Magic DPS: Mystic Knight
I like the persian/middle eastern design of mystic knight in FF5 and would look great to bring that back to Eorzea

    Melee DPS: Pirate
To be specific, from Bravely Default 1. Pirate does big dps while debilitating the enemy

    Ranged DPS: Trickster
From FFTA2, these bangaa use cards to cause mayhem in the battlefield, weakening foes with nasty effects and throwing cards

    Healer: Salve Maker
Already mentioned in the video, chemist would be so awesome. And this job is also featured in Octopath Traveller. Mixing different herbs to produce different results, potency and range would be fun. Use something similar to Ninjutsu/Dance minigame during battle to prepare potions and a button to throw
