Viewbotting destroys the desire of beginner streamers to stream due to the fact that:
1. You see that the botter is getting a huge number of views without any effort.
2. You want to do something new, come up with something, but when you can’t monetize it or at least attract people (because they are used to monotonous content or attracted by a large number of botters), you lose heart.
3. The viewbotter has more weight, it is easier for him to get an affiliate program, it is easier for him to get sponsors.
Sponsors trust ads from streamers less because of viewbots. Viewers trust streamers less. Content gets worse and more monotonous. Beginning streamers go down the easy road of viewbotting and quickly lose interest without going through what honest newbies go through. If you're good at streaming, it's much harder for you to get to the top. If you're bad, it's harder for you to get at least a chance.
What is the difference between embedding and viewbotting? The consequences of embedding are exactly the same – so there is no difference. And no one would embed streams on their site for nothing – there is always an agreement or in rare cases embedding of well-known streamers in order to visually legalize this system.
How i look at the steam streams
Watching this made me realize how many nihilistic idiots perpetuate this space and literately want to watch the world burn lmao.
they have a system in place to shutdown botting videos. i know youtube has it i dont know if twitch has it or not.
Who gives a fk, so unimportant
That was quite degenerate tbh like every drama… some things the chatters said were actually true and asmon just straight up banned them lol, also the only problem I see with it is that embedding counts as a viewer, I don't see any problem against embedding itself, building a website that is huge enough to actually bring you meaningful traffic is pretty hard, so why would somebody NOT use that to link to his other pages, it would be quite stupid of him lol
Embedding stream to your own website is nothing wrong and it's a tool for you to promote your stuff to other platform BUT it should not count it as views like…
First, they put it on the corner of the web small enough for you to ignore it and it's design that way due to Twitch's loophole.
Second, you are not watching on Twitch, you watching it on a different website that not owned by Twitch. It makes sense that it doesn't count as a view it's like I download a video from Youtube and watch it on my phone, my view count shouldn't have contribute to Youtube's website because I watch it on different platform.
Third, if advertisements/sponsor caught up to these loopholes and knowingly that they spend thousands/millions on ads that people won't see they will pull the plug out, and what happen if that happen? Twitch has no way to operate to the capacity that we have now since they have lack of funds and because of that more features will pull off and especially server maintanece is fucking expansive, employees will be laid off and so much more. You can argue that Bezos should fund them but let's be real, he won't do it if there are no profit since the ads/sponsor left.
It's a bad for all parties including the people who embed their stream too.
Unfortunately that's a part of "hustle culture, claw your way to the top by any means necessary". Do I blame anyone for doing this while twitch turns around and slashes profit shares for content creators? No, but it's still scummy. These scams and "short cuts" will only grow the more twitch cuts into creators earning potential.
Games like wow and ff are boring to watch unless the streamer is entertaining
Twitch can easily fix the problem but why would they? The botters fluff their numbers and make the platform look better for advertisers.
Probably won't be read but i do have to say i think its ok for streamers to embed their streams on their OWN sites or their wikis…BECAUSE the people on those sites or wikis are obviously interested in that person and probably dont realize they're streaming
EDIT: but it shouldn't count as a view
The people arguing that if you run a successful website then the embeds are fine are missing the point that these "viewers" don't know they're watching the stream. It's all fine if the person means to be watching/supporting you, but it shouldn't be this sneaky thing done without your consent.
That dude is lying at 27 minutes mark when starts listing all his odd jobs and describes loading and being responsible for balancing a load on a plane. That job is a loadmaster and by law it's not something a random warehouse person can do. It's a specialist career that requires a ton of certification and credibility to obtain. Pure BS on his part
Someone with a limited bandwidth like 1 TB / month from Comcast can get screwed from something like this
now it matters because jealous streamers snitch lol
If its possible, and it earns em easy money, of course they use it. Once the companies paying money for adds find out how big this is at Twitch only then they will change it. As long as everyone is getting payed this way, they will leave it alone. And in the end, the end users, content creators who don't use this and the companies paying for adds are getting screwed.
Basically twitch front page
jabaited? wtf are these words? starting to see how fucking weird these ppl are. i complain about video games for a living. must be a winner
I dont understand in wich way you are jealous when you dont care about twitch streamers and twitch getting fucked over
the viewbotter rin is also one of the xiv streamers that jumped on the clout train to carry rich thru ultimates , seems he is down bad
I honestly feel like there is nothing wrong with embedded, we don't even know if advertisers are paying for those embeded views(they probably don't unless we are talking about a situation like a sponsor) and its not against tos like viewbotting is. Asmon points are full of holes and it would be nice to see some humbling on the way he sees his own views.
the problem is not the embedding itself but the autoplay of the embed and that embeds under a certain frame size are counted as views. youtube videos are embedded everywhere and on every website of guides or youtubers, but the difference is that they don't autoplay and thus don't count as views.
Funny thing is for me is that I tend to stay away from the higher view streams because there’s a higher chance you get to talk and interact with the streamer the lower then viewers and a lot of the time I find it more fun and enjoyable then the high views streams
Advertisement is called "the blackhole of marketing" cause a huge portion of it straight up does nothing and the boomers still want to do it. Fuck them. Just like idiots buying crypto. If the business is that dumb they deserve it.
“ earning your way” said by a streamer.

5:30 Why does Fextralife need promotion from a twitch streamer who only has viewbotted viewers already on fextralife? They're already there.
Honestly i think there needs to be more view botting that way something is done about it as advertisers will eventually notice and get rightfully pissed
Banning that guy was a real dick move.
IN relation to guides linking to streams tahts would be fine, but its the fact that just looking at the guide counts you as watching the stream. I should have to click the link and pull up the stream at the evry least for it to count me as watching.
