  1. What they could do is in the housing neighborhood they could put one house that is instanced for each player depending on their account, and do, the random plots for fc housing

  2. I wish they would give us apartments where we can purchase a "large" penthouse. I'd gladly sacrifice having a yard if it mean that I could finally get to decorate a large house ;A;

  3. Apologies if it sounds silly, I feel depending on the server a lot of people hold on to small houses so as to bypass the timer when the eventual mediums and larges come up. I like the idea if the possible farm in Endwalker is a nice alternative for some. but some kind of incentive for house owners to move from the small plots for new players might be interesting or maybe just a ward that you can upgrade your plot from a small to a medium or a large via extensions? if people leave the plot reverts back but could be a nice way to free up existing wards by offering those interested the chance to build it up? probably sounds silly but who knows? (sorry for waffle)

  4. Now that we have the ability to visit other servers on our data centers, there should be a dedicated housing server for each Data Center. Nothing there but housing areas with the possibility of a market board serving the whole Data Center. Imagine the number of housing wards and/or plots you could put on a server dedicated to that. Would probably even bring the cost of housing plots down so even the more casual players could afford one.

  5. Instanced housing would be better.

The community of wards is enough to make a lot of people desire it for that reason alone….
But solo wards? Is that meaning Instanced? And FC sounds great!!

Still I would rather go solo ward if that means just me.

It's the one thing I like about ESO over 14; you have multiple houses/mansions/castles and can decorate them however you want, including creating obstacles courses, parkore [leap of faith!!], and other for fun stuff.

I would be willing to pay cash for a permanent 14 home, which is something I never did and never would do in ESO.
Just so long as it's reasonable. I forget the pricing on ESO homes but I wouldn't pay more than $40 and definitely wouldn't pay something like a retainer fee, even if it was the same price as a single retainer, and retained any and all customizations if you lapsed on payment, I would rather just buy it outright.

Oh, another fun thing about ESO housing is unless my memory is wrong you can allow anyone to visit even strangers.
It's been since November last year since I played so I may be remembering wrong?

But the ability to allow even strangers to visit an instanced home is really nice.
Keep it private while working on it and open it to the public when you're ready 😀

  6. The lottery system is a start, but it seems like they could capture some additional information to improve a persistent player's chances over time. Three I can quickly think of are 1) How long has the player been playing, at max level, and / or veteran reward rank? 2) Does the character or account already have a plot (and if so, how many)? 3) How many times has the player put down their deposit on a lottery plot (until lottery selection if there is an option to cancel).

These (and perhaps other) pieces of information could be used to prioritize players and the lottery could then be used to make the call from the top tier. The advantages of this system are 1) a players chances increase over time, so the unlucky don't bid 200 times without getting a plot and 2) encourages players to only bid on plots they really want, since already having (or having recently left) a plot would essentially penalize them.

Of course, this assumes developers share my assumption that an objective should be to allow as many max level (or long-term) players as possible an opportunity to have an in-game plot.

  7. Honestly it depends on how they do it. I want a house, any house… if I'm now forced to lottery with 40+ other people on houses I better be able to put money down on 10 different ones because lately I've been losing to 3-5+ others with the camping method, seems like my chances might actually drop further depending on implementation.

  8. This is still shit.

Just add more wards, when all wards are full, create a new one. This isn't rocket science. even the most complicated homes use a couple kilobytes of data, and there's only likely to be a few thousand homes per world. That means a couple gigabytes at most of storage for a truly massive number of plots. The limited ward numbers are arbitrary and ridiculous.

  9. First time I bought a house, I went up to the sign clicked it, bam got the house. It was a personal house so of course I never used it. Then we start an FC and 2 days later endwalker is announced. We spent about 20 hours with 4 people clicking signs until we got one.

  10. lotery is an improvement for sure, but id be FUCKING TERRIFIED to not win, because i dont have the gil to drop on multiple plots. If i didn't get one, that'd be it. There wouldn't be any more available because of how fast they go.

still, for people who just literally cant do housing savage its a really good idea.

  11. This system works in a scenario where there are only a small amount of plots available (or becoming available), which will very quickly become the case as the plots fill up in Ishgard, and subsequently free up in the other provinces. However, unless they limit how many lotteries you can participate in at once, this is going to be where wealth disparity plays a part in who gets plots and who doesn't in the Ishgardian plots with said lottery-based purchase.

  12. Still wont be able to get a house. Reasons why I think so?
1: lottery, some ass with multiple account who already owns houses can pre pay with multiple accounts to try for every house.
2: first come first serve, lots of people will camp, like they do already.

  13. As long as players get there gil back when not picked by the lottery system sounds ok in my opinion. Anything is better than players having to click on a placard for hours and walk away empty handed. My partner and I were fortunate to get our small house in The Goblet back when Shirogane housing was introduced and everyone mass exited to get a plot in the new ward. We woke up very early and got our plot in the Goblet. We still live there 😁

  14. I like the lottery far more. Means I can actually play the darn game while waiting rather than camping like a maniac, and in time, luck might grant one the house. Although it would be nice if there was a "player has been in x amount lottery, without winning a house, will now have more ticket chances applied" etc.

  15. Any system that doesn't hinge success as a competition between who can either injure themselves or macro more effectively is an improvement. that means first-come-first-serve is just as bad, but a lottery system would be better than the current scenario. We also need more wards and fair limits on hoarding estates.

  16. I have a better idea than doing just doing a lottery system. 1 house per server, each house is shared between all your characters in that server. It will reduce congestion, and prevent scalpers.

  17. Housing in FFXIV is garbage regardless what they do because not everyone can even get one

Only sensible thing to do would be removing it entirely as there is no point in it even existing if it's only for a very select few
