  1. All this doomism for nothing

I really wish people would think or do some sort of research before complaining about something that has been in the game for almost 3 years

  2. Frankly I think all the people complaining about this are probably the ones who've been engaging in this behavior all along. Clarity in the Terms of Service makes it more likely they will be reported for that behavior in tthe future. If they get banned for doing this stuff I say that's a good thing. FFXIV has a great community and I want it to stay that way.

  3. I am all for being considerate, however it's impossible to have intelligent or meaningful conversations or discussions if you are always trying to make sure you never offend anyone with every word you say.

  4. This is exactly what I thought it was, that there were a few new policies added, but the majority of them were the same as they've always been but now just a bit clearer with examples, etc. for the benefit of the players. Cool.

  5. I dislike grouping with strangers so much that I quit running dungeons except for the MSQ ones that I am forced to do to progress. In those I speak to no one until the end where I said "tyfg" and hit the escape button..

  6. You are right, I agree. I think SE should just remove the ability to chat. You never know when a sensitive loser is going to report you for giving any advice or making a suggestion. That’s why I don’t talk to anyone. All I type is “GG” at the end of dungeons or nothing and I leave.

  7. Damn I can't flame 0 DPS healers out of the duty finder, and then find their server and defame them in /shout, try to get them kicked from their FC, and harass them on alts and on discord until they quit and uninstall? MUH FREEDOM OF SPEECH!! /s

Apparently, basic "don't be a d***" TOS are so rare in other online games that reddit and discord think being asked to treat others with basic decency is terrible… ¯_(ツ)_/¯ There's a few things I don't like, but in general I think this is a very good TOS in my opinion.

  8. I remember playing ffxi in 2002 or so, and it had the most amazing community. Fast foward to the real pandemic of 2021- snowflake syndrome-, and I can see why people fondly look back on that game as the best game back in the day for friendship and bonds. I guess people will just stay silent in duties still!

  9. It's just that players need to learn to be more considerate and watch their words with others where as the usual response would be that if offended people just say something like, "you just a snowflake" 🙄 which isn't nice at all. It is quite sad that they needed to place actual examples for people to really get the message.

The rules really are "common sense" but apparently lots of the player base still need to be told about it more clearly.

I think one thing they should add, is that if you blacklist a player they should not be able to search you at all in the game. EVER as long as they're on your BL list. And it should also be updated that if I remove someone from FL that on their end I am gone as well. We need consent to be added to the FL yet when removed or even BL'd we are still on theirs at the end of the day which is quite strange.

  10. Doesn't his follow up today contradict the ToS updates? He states you can just leave a party but in the ToS it gives various examples that does not allow you to leave a group.

  11. My issue was with something, that was apparently clarity not addition, is the if 1 of 10 players in an FC doesn't like a joke they can report it. That should read if 1 of 10 players doesn't like a joke they should leave the FC and go find another group of people to hang around.

Yes I say crude and lewd jokes. I say a fair many things that could offend someone I'm not changing and if 8 other people appreciate my humor and 1 person doesn't why should I get punished for this? Firstly I wouldn't know and second if I did know then I'd consult the other 8 to see if this person needs to be removed or if I need to leave.

  12. I still can't believe people went "BUT WHAT ABOUT THE CHRYSALIS TEAR" when it came to the "abolute way to clear something" bit.

Like you can TELL those people never had the "O12S strat shouting match" experience (which is obviously what the ToS is looking at) and are just grasping for straws with terrible examples.

  13. Well, this situation doesn't change much, just avoid any unnecessary communication in duties and if things go bad or you/others are not skilled enough just leave.

  14. Tbh I was surprised by this. I saw your original video and thought that people would be happy cause we have more clarity, thus facilitating communication in the game.

  15. Here is a problem with this ToS, say you are in a fc and for like 10 mins streight they did owo in the fc chat, if 1 person didnt like it, they can report it and people can get banned now and get strikes on there account. I can give many more ex's that this ToS can and will be abused
