You are a great FFXIV content creator and you deserve more subscriptions. Keep up the awesome work.
It's an effect achieved through the combination of art/effects/audio design that makes things feel larger than they are. Bungie used to do this really well with Halo with the audio combined with their skybox art. True masterpieces in game design are achieved when gameplay/art/audio design are all brought together to make something better than the sum of it's parts.
Good job !! I'm sharing your video in our comunity discord! 😊😊😊
Wait till you see death wing compared to Bahamut
Dudes a Gnat
IF you compare the 2 games side by side, the biggest thing I felt is:
In WoW, locations of certain NPC, vendors, etc is close together in a very "convenient" manner. The distance to run between each NPC you need for certain things isn't that far, so while the scale of the place may seen "big", because the running distance is actually alot shorter than it's shown, the feeling of grandness is lost very quickly. Along with that, the details of the building itself, like the brick wall, street, size of fountains, doors, wooden posts etc, EVERYTHING, in wow is wierdly huge, like, REALLY huge, a simple brick block is a size of a Tauren. Because of this the towns and cities don't feel BIG, but rather you're just shrunk to make it feel big. While the building itself might be 1:1ratio to player size, everything else around it just isn't.
In FFXIV, you will notice that alot of stuff, from the graphics and detail on the walls, streets, windows, light, etc everything, is almost 1:1, like if you were in your characters shoe, you can see yourself holding and carrying alot of the things that exists ingame already. Because the game is designed in such a manner, everything feels more immersive, and you feel the size of every city and town you come across. That and, this is a SMALL gripe, every NPC involving vendor, class trainer, job trainer etc, they're all located in a more "realistic" location and distance, as in if a town was designed in such a way, it KIND of makes sense how things are spaced out in every city (Except for the Alchemist guild, my god that place is so neeedlessly far). This further gives the feeling of size and grandness to every location you come across.
The cut scenes make the cities look much bigger, but they are huge none the less.
