  1. I dont think it should be applied to random matchmaking, that goes a bit far for what is essentially randomized encounters.

But other things should be implemented like removing you from their friends list. And on the local client side your characters should not load for each other. This is completely possible as you can use glamourer to modify other player characters, so an official solution to just make it poof is just not impossible.

  2. Sadly, SE is unlikely to change this until someone is murdered by a stalker and/or government legislation forces them too. It would be nice if they fixed this before any of that happens.

  3. Since the female owner of this chat is policing speech, I have the following to say:

Nothing needs to be done about the XIV ToS about this.

ONE incident of stalking (through the use of MULTIPLE social media apps and resources, and not just XIV), should not result in people across the world being penalized.

You lunatics want to turn everything into a "safe-space".

He followed her in-game (which does literally nothing other than annoy the player) and they easily could've changed servers or made other changes.

Also, this happened in Japan. Due to the speech regulations of this comment section, all I can say is that this should not surprise people.

There are multiple solutions to this that do not require a policy change from XIV and you people advocating for this type of shit is the problem.

  4. Unfortunately, people don't have thick skin to realize it's more than just "I did something weird/cringe". That should not matter. This has been a thing since the dawn of MMO's and FFXIV is a little too hand holdy sometimes. Liked the video.

  5. One time I got a blacklisted person in my alliance raid roulette. Nothing happened, luckily, but they had been a former stalker of mine a few years ago, so seeing them in my alliance raid caused my anxiety to spike.

I've also had one other stalker, and they would follow me around. They had a very bad habit of stalking their current obsession for weeks or months, even when they are blacklisted. They stalked me for around a month before moving onto a new person. It wasn't until months later that I found out they were ran out of a few worlds, and people have reported them but nothing is done about it. I'll sometimes see them in Limsa Lominsa when I'm passing by. It's crazy the GMs don't do anything about people like these.

  6. Have a stalker on ff who would stalk my fflogs and check the people in my static to try to get into the group i'm in, its embarrassing that i have to explain to new statics not to allow this player in because of my situation but so far theyve been understanding – they managed to get into 2 of my groups cuz not everyone was informed abt it

  9. It's not just the friend list that needs fixing. Unless I missed something, Eternity Rings from getting married are also a stalker tool. Because in order for the 'Bond' to be broken, both players need to turn in their rings. And until they do…they can still be used to teleport to the partner. A friend of mine 'divorced' their partner when he just turned into…a very angry person. And he never turned his ring in, and used it to teleport to her constantly, stalk her, and berate her. This was a few years ago, and it basically required her to delete her character and start all over to escape the dude. But I haven't seen anything that says this has been dealt with…

  10. I'm glad more and more people are talking about this flawed system. I brought it up in one of the forums and got bashed for complaining about it.
I still remember the story where a man got banned even when he was the one that got harassed by multiple people. Also someone that got banned for 10 days for being stalked.

  11. I know the problem, and I probably would say something different if I got stalked… but I think just because some weirdos and downright criminals abuse a system doesnt make it flawed, or in need of an overhaul. We hear these stories and are rightfully shocked, but how many are there, and how many people have no problem with it?

    Also… why that thumbnail? -.-

  12. Oftentimes I just read that people get stalked. I would like to read more about what actions the stalkers did that were perceived as stalking. And also what the stalked person did exactly when they were confronted with the stalking behavior of the other players. Maybe there are similarities that engage the stalkers to keep stalking?

  13. I've been playing this game for 4 years and it still continues to baffle me how oddly their blacklist works. I understand fully where Yoshi P is coming from, however, you just have to accept that block systems like this are just the norm and usually are for a reason. If people get blocked, sure, it can be super frustrating or upsetting, but it's just one of those things that we get used to as a society. I have had friendships in this game that didn't end well or we just in general went our separate ways and it has always annoyed me to know that, even though I deleted them, they would still have me on their list and see what I'm up to. They need to make it a mutual function.

Another thing that frustrates me is that there is NO WAY to blacklist someone unless you have their name SOMEWHERE in your chat box that you can click on to so. You can't just see someone out in the open and just right click them to block, no, their name has to be in the chatbox OR you need to have done a duty with them recently to blacklist them from the contacts menu. You also can't simply right-click someone in your friends list and block them from there. It really needs to be addressed. If for whatever reason they can't seem to do this, then give us an appear offline/invisible option at the very least.

There is the wedding ring option also, in which if you marry someone and decide to divorce them, you are forced to turn in your ring, the item that you can use to teleport to your spouse every 30 minutes. However, the other person is not forced to do so, nor does their ring just magically disappear just because you got rid of yours. This can then lead to your ex-spouse stalking you with their ring teleport. I'm not actually sure if this is still an issue however, maybe it was something that was fixed without my knowledge, but given the state of the friends list, I wouldn't be surprised if this is still a problem.

  14. If the stalker goes to your profile on the lodestone and copy the link, even if you move characters dc and change names they will get your character profile but with your actual name, so yeah, EVEN if they fix the friendlist it will be useless…
