Please, no Endgame type crap. It's great that there's people who liked it, but there are a lot of people who absolutely don't who have loved the comics since they were kids. I was pissed at Endgame and later Marvel movies. To the point where I won't support them until Disney has nothing to do with them.
I'm so conflicted on the "start a new character at 7.0 and make 2.0-6.0 optional" thing. It makes sense to me because the more expansions we get the higher the barrier to entry becomes. With all progress being locked behind msq, telling players they have 120 hours of just story before they get to end game is a big ask. But I can't help but worry about the health of the narrative, the population of older content, and the feasibility mechanics-wise of making such a drastic change. Also on my mind is the amount of resources an overhaul like that would require and would it hinder the progress of new content creation.
I'm not vehemently against it, but it is a huge decision with wide reaching consequences.
Having a new starting area post Endwalker definitely sounds intriguing. It would definitely make it seem like the game was entering a new era altogether.
I don't care if someone skips alot of story just don't complain to me if you later on complain about how you don't know what is going on
My start experience with wow was not good so I dont know if I want to final fantasy do exacly the same.
Picture the next expansion after this, is a crossover with Kingdom heart. LOL
Reminder to everyone that the initial reaction to Emet Selch was that he was le quirky joker man and ended up becoming one of the deepest and most beloved characters in the entire Final Fantasy franchise, so I'm not completely bereft of hope when it comes to FunnyDaniel.
Who does an ending this well after 10 years? The Wheel of Time and I’m certain that Stormlight Archive will have one of tge greatest endings ever in fantasy history and thats saying something since The Wheel of Time already holds that crown by a wide margin.
No matter how I look at it, FF14 is not some grand storyline like a Marvel movie. It's actually a much narrower story crafted around the Scions early on, and the Ascians later on.

I've been playing FFXIV for 7 years no and it actually is my first FF title…I just never liked playing a fix character and I especially hate round based combat…so no FF game seemed interesting for me…I only ask ppl or watch videos to get to know the stories of the other FF games cause I really like that universe and those stories…that's also a reason why I watch let's plays..just for the story
Fandaniel has just been introduced. How can you say he is not interesting? Give him time to play out in Endwalker
Honestly when you asked if this was going to be infinity wars or game of thrones season finale, that's literally a low-key fear of mine. Season 8 of GOT was so hyped and everyone was so ready, then it was just a pretty big disappointment. I'm trying to save my reactions for the expansion though… Don't want to ruin it for myself.
