  1. I wish they would change the way you get into those raids, for Castrum you need to be inside the zone and wait for it to pop up and then need enough people going in. Delubrum was solved better in that regard by just queuing up, but then sometimes you got no tanks or healers in your party which makes it just annoying.
Dalriada is the same as castrum, just let people queue up for it.

  2. No offence to the amount who ain't ignorant to story related things, but I think a large amount of Xeno's audience are mostly raiders or only care about raid content.
So, asking them "is the story good?" you'll get no real good answer, better off asking someone who cares about story.

  3. I actually liked the Bozja storyline until it got to Zadnor, then it took a nosedive. Another big part that expands the storyline is you really wanna read those field notes, they have so much lore if you're a lore junkie, also pay attention to the dialogue that npcs will say at certain Skirmishes/CEs.

  4. Also, not understanding the grind for things, yet grinding out raid savage content, it's no difference, both are just as tedious as the other, it's just one that can only be done weekly, while the other you can grind to your hearts content.

  5. So I might be wrong here but as someone that plays WoW and raids, and also plays FFXIV I think there is a misunderstanding of the word optional. As a WoW player I am conditioned to look at anything that is not tied to player power needed for raid progression as optional. So when Preach is saying Bozja is optional he means your player power is not tied to it in an end game raid sense.

If Bozja was in WoW there would probably be a 10 to 15% character power increase tied to it. It is just WoW brain to instantly go to, will this make me stronger or not above all things. It isn't is this going to be fun or do I want to do it, it is how much player power is tied to it.

Edit: so no player power = optional. I can choose to do it or not without affecting my raid group. If it affects my raid group it is mandatory. If it is just something I might enjoy or unlocks something I might enjoy just for fun without affecting the guild raid then it is optional.

  6. It’s not mentioned in Preach’s vid….but Notoriety was introduced for duels. A way for the player to ignore the rng of being chosen and force there way into the fight.

Don’t get chosen, notoriety rises. The higher your notoriety and you will eventually be going in. Wish they had that in from the jump w/ the duels.

  7. I think the only problem with separateing the raids from the bozja content is the main gimmick of the content itself the essences and skills. technically you could buy that shit off the marketboard but it's easier just to grind them out in the zone + it helps players understand what they do before attempting the raids you could argue that they could just be doable without the gimmick but that kinda defeats the purpose in a way if they added them in, in the way xeno says by having them auto go on your character after deating a boss i could see that working in the future but with the logos and essenses being so attached to the raids it's a bit hard to implement it that way.

  8. This really becomes reoccurring theme, when WoW players giving a try to FF and like “What? You telling me that there is MMO that don’t feels like second job and don’t shoves red hot nails into my ass on regular basis with each update? What?!”

  9. Yeap it's about how much you put into it, like for me I hate the place now because I spent ages in there leveling all my alt jobs, maxing my mettle, finishing 10/10/10 and doing a few relics, and now they release 2 new jobs for me to grind but you'll never catch me back in there. I loathe the thought of spending even another second doing it. But that's not the contents fault, I just hit my limit.

  10. Bozja puts me to sleep. If I want a nap I go in. The only thing I have left if I want to is dr savage and the duels. But mindlessly grinding skirmishes and ces smooths my brain. Not to mention the story is so fucking halfassed. Like you know that one guy who is lyons boss that we only see in cutscenes? Yeah he dies in the little log thing, lyon killed him in his sleep IN A FUCKING FOOTNOTE. I hate that destiny grimoire bullshit more than any other storytelling device. Bozja can kiss my ass, but at least some people enjoy it.

  11. Although I have been playing FF14 for close to 10 years and I have a lot of complaints about it, the game is still the best MMORPG I have ever played. And I have played a lot since 1999. Watching these WoW refugees explain how good we have it makes me appreciate what dev has done for us.

  12. I only got chosen for a duel once, but I went in on the wrong job (was leveling astro) and died to the first mechanic. There we so many people watching. I could never show my face on the southern front ever again.

Nah those are the people who don't/won't use essence and lost actions
Optional is optional, if you enjoy raiding it's still optional. You don't have to do it. But if you want to do it, sure you have to, but that's a choice you make.

  14. Doing the 45m raid 15 times for the relic was what truly made me hate Bozja
Nobody using their buffs making it longer than it should and to be fair the buffs/potions are just extra grind which I'd rather have completely removed since 90% of players dont use them

Ofc I could just form a party to do the raid faster but meh
Also a Ravana from WISH is a thing

  15. Ik it's really late into the expac, but I find it strange that the relic weapon was bis over the raid one. It's like learn 4 fights that are "hard" that prolly took let's say 2 months for the average pf person then however long it takes to win a weapon<a skilless mindless grind that doesn't come close to the commitment of those that did e9-e12s.
