In this video, I dive into why prepping for FFXIV’s Patch 7.1 may not be worth your time—especially with most gear updates targeting crafters alone. I’ll break down what’s changing in the game, how limited the actual benefits are for general players, and reveal the one lucrative item you might want to invest in. Whether you’re a crafter or just looking for quick gil, find out what’s actually worth your effort in this patch and what to skip. Make sure you’re making the best choices for your gil and prep time!

There are opportunities out there but not in the guides like a lil evil but with the glam system update full sets of glams are desirable so some items that are next to worthless now can be driven up for profit
The out of context kenny autoerotic asphyxiation scene broke me. xD
This gesr is guna last for a long time though
Would pay attention to housing items and crafting material as everyone upgrades to large interiors. There will be some opportunities just not in gear.
Yo, hey, it's me! The comment u asked for for more guides. Like some idiot i got all my crafters to 100 without knowing why. It kept me busy for a while, but now that i'm there i don't know what to do to profit from then onward. Is Materia Farming the end all be all?
This makes a lot of sense. This is the first patch I'm fully geared and prepared, so that's a bummer, but it will make it easier to prepare for the next one. It's really nice to know there's no rush.
I would actually love to hear your thoughts on crafter materia farming especially before you're fully geared up. I felt collectible crafting took way too much time if you need all the hq mats.
if you are able to craft the new crafter gear and gathering gear yourself is it worth it to upgrade time efficiency wise I am curious as I am already pentamelded on both of the current bis slots pre 7.1
I think there are a couple opportunities you're missing here you're missing here. This isn't a HUGE gold rush like launch but upgradeable crafted gear does mean prices for HQ gear go up.
Two weeks later when FRU drops the prices of pots (probably not food since it's not used at the same rate) will also go up. Though how in demand pots will be can be heavily dependent on how many early dps checks there are. TOP was miserable for that since the balance and gear at the time meant having to basically pot every opener for consistency and P1 cause so many wipes that the pull count would balloon like crazy.
There is also new housing items, but more importantly there is new housing interiors which will lead to a lot of redesigns so housing items in general should go up.
That said materia is for sure the big one. Which is actually a good reason to focus on crafting combat gear for those looking to upgrade or crafting the new crafted gear. Pop a spiritgain manual, pot, and food and just start crafting. If you can make a profit from the gear and mats alone then the materia is just the cherry on top. The new crafter/gatherer gear won't even be needed to do this and you'll get more spiritbond using the current gear anyways.
All that said, definitely less opportunity for money compared to an even patch. Also I feel like just general less opportunity these days in general as it feels like there are way more omni-crafters then there used to be and in general more people competing on any of these markets.
As always just sell to the over flooded population of crafters who feel the need to max pentameld new gear day one. And once the market goes down the smart crafters will upgrade thier gear if they so choose.
How did I even end up here? My doo-doo brain has Eureka bunnies as financial advisers and they really suck at math, let me tell you.
I think there might be some money to be made for selling items to complete sets since the glam table wants full sets of armor now to lower your item put in
The best gains were from selling stuff to all the late overpreppers panic buying stuff off the market board thinking they'll turn a profit
There is way more to the new crafting gear than you're letting on. It is absolutely lucrative. The core materials will require crafting scrips, gathering scrips for aethersand. While the ingredients will need to be made which will probably require new legendary gathering nodes, and/or tomes for more aethersand, and you still have to HQ the synth. Point is, if you aren't the one making the final piece to sell. You should ABSOLUTEY be trying to get a hold of the materials to make the new stuff. On patch day you'll see a TON of party finders with "Buying scrip/tome mats". There is your money, tax free.
