  1. What's everyone's thoughts! Does it bother you if your job is looking sluggish compared to others, or like me (as a Summoner Main) do you even prefer that you're jobs not higher up the chart!? 🙂

  2. I think the important distinction for this video is that it's not YOUR personal rankings, but you giving context to the rankings people lean hard on in the community. More people need to watch this.

  3. Rdps seems like a bad tool for measuring dps to me. That or I just am not understanding the metric.

Raid buffs are far more valuable when they are buffing a character that already has high dps, so doesnt this undermine the value of having a class that has high base damage such as samurai? I would much rather increase the crit chance of a 2k dps samurai vs than a 500 dps ninja, for example.

  4. I think its important to acknowledge that while rDPS is a good way to level the playing field of assessing how every job can perform compared to one another, aDPS is actually a more accurate metric for how well a certain member is performing with their job and how hard some jobs can hit in a party with optimal buffs

Getting high rDPS just relies on you pressing your hard hitting buttons as fast as you can while getting high aDPS relies on you bursting when buffs are out and timing things better with the party, getting high rDPS as a job that doesn't provide buffs can also hurt other jobs that provide buffs because its more optimal to burst immediately for your damage which hurts the buffer job that wants to hold their buffs for say the third GCD.

Using both metrics of aDPS and rDPS is the best way to quantify how well each job performs, and it lets us accurately see how it all really does depend on party composition over what a website says.

And this is all not considering how some jobs perform in certain raids with variance in downtime, Reaper might be blowing up Pandemonium but its not so hot in DSR, and that 3-4% difference between Paladin and Dark Knight in Pandemonium gets even larger in DSR, a ultimate that emphazizes huge bursts over consistent damage, plenty more examples like it.
