[FFXIV 6.1] New Cape Westwind Solo Instance – Actually Hard???



I had a file prepped in advanced because it takes like an hour of New Game Plus to get to that point, and wanted to see what it’s like. Later I’ll have the Lahabrea fight at the end too.
Some things to note: Omni-positional hitbox on the mobs, and my character doing the slower weapon drawing animation that was implemented in Endwalker.

0:00 – Start Cutscenes
2:36 – Phase 1
4:30 – Adds Phase
5:50 – Phase 2
7:54 – Mid-fight Cutscene
8:45 – Phase 3
9:44 – End Cutscenes

  1. Holy crap, that fight is going to become an amazing and memorable setpiece for newcomers to the game. From a mechanics standpoint, it's simple by Endwalker standards, but ARR players are going to be challenged immensely if they aren't careful.

    I'm almost envious of those who start the game now. Rhitatyn went from a meme to probably the best fight in ARR for those outside of Coils.

    I'd really like to see this fight, the finale with Lahabrea, and the duel with REDACTED at the end of Endwalker to be made queueable and possibly for EX versions to be made in order to challenge players by themselves.

  2. I actually love this. The final phase had me believing they saved this character. The set up was too good.
    … I'm also going to add that to the list of 'infernos' referenced by Garleans.

  3. They really took the UCoB Twintania mechanics meme and made it reality huh, four phases and all. It even has the music! (Also, I assume he normally has his death animation cutscene too, it's just skipped because this player had seen it before)
