Mechanics are generally easy in FF 14, for instance. WoW mythic raids have advanced mechanics, for instance you get a debuff that makes you do more damage but will kill you if you don't remove it. However you are locked out from getting that damage boost for 2 minutes or something so there needs to be a rotation. Or you need to pick up X and move it to Y. however you are locked out for 5 min after moving it, The raid is split during the encounter and each group has different mechanics to do. FF is generally, stay out of bad stuff mechanics. I"d like to see Asmon beat the Southern Front special one on one trial you have to be lucky to get.

Asmongold is an amazing raid leader to be honest everyone calls him an asshole but what I saw was just someone being positive to everyone even during mistakes for 18 minutes.
