Recently hit this question as I wanted to try out extreme content after hitting 80 / finishing MSQ. Luckily my FC is great and explained this to me on Discord/sent me exarchic gear to upgrade but without that there arn't many slow clear concise help/guides on this! Easy to get lost in the ingame gear/item terminology that players wont know. Will send to others who need this in future.

I wish the endgame gear upgrade wasn't as confusing. Too many menus and item exchange nonsense. Also, the relic weapon grind gets too tedious at certain points.
Hopefully they'll address some of these issues in Endwalker.
Good guide, but you forgot about the 520 and 495 gear from zadnor and bozja. You can get a full set of 495 for bronze coins, after 1 castrum clear and a piece of 520 after every other raid in zadnor.
