A Brand New Weapon for FFXIV 7.0 onward!

Job Formula Breakdown: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wC5UtPhv0hc

Hey everyone! I wanted to make this video just to gush about a weapon I’d LOVE to see in FFXIV but also hear what you all would like to see in this MMO moving forward. With the end of the Hydaelyn/Zodiark sage we’ve so many new opportunities in front of us, so lets ask questions and wonder about the future!

  1. My favorite weapon that I want to see is a giant 2-handed hammer. It's the weapon I had in mind when I first started playing FFXIV as a Marauder. Big 2-handed axe? That's almost a hammer. Since I started playing FFXIV, I've been very happy to see Warrior getting two hammer weapons! I don't need an entire new job, keep giving Warrior some hammers I can use in glams! It already suits the Warrior job perfectly!

  2. I'd like if we got a rework to MCH and it split into 2 classes a gunner and a constructer/artificer class.

Machinist isn't doing very good right now and getting a class that is more focused on sniping pinpoint shots and high crits with different types of guns would be nice. Pair that with a new class that creates magical constructs like queen and also has some sort of explosives as their primary like a satchel for bombs and whatnot.

Gunner could be still be the selfish ranged dps while the Constructer/Artificer/Bombardier could be more supportive. Creating stuff that give buffs to other classes while having their summons be their form of ogcd damage.

  3. All these great ideas in the comments, but no one is bringing up the most eclectic choice from Final Fantasy X. Dolls for a casting, aka Lulu from X. I mean, they could even incorporate the doll casting like it did in X with LuLus higher level spells.

  4. I want a melee dps with a sword… Like rune fencer. But I can see them going the FF11 route and make it a tank since it's the melee version of rdm.

I can see this as a midpoint between ninja and drg/rpr. Mainly holding it together, but takes it apart for some dual wield attacks. Holding the right hand forward with the left backwards. Take them apart and put on the hips like nin.

  5. All the jobs I want to see are either fully or partially taken by existing jobs, which kind of sucks.
    – Fencer is the job I want to see added the most. As much as I love Red Mage, it's a shame that the closest thing we can get to a duelist job is a caster.
    – Ranger is what Archer should have turned into instead of Bard. I like Bard but man I wish we had a true marksman style job with a bow (my favorite fantasy weapon in games).
    – Berserker as a melee DPS is taken by Warrior but I don't really enjoy tanking that much.

  6. A healer that does dps in melee range to accumulate energy and does burst heals and buffs allies with energy accumulated would be interesting. But I know it’s probably going to be another dps

  7. What I'd truly love, is deeper job advancements. While I'm 100% certain we won't see it, I'd love higher customizations for jobs. My example has always been this: Scholar advances to one of two specializations, both healer: Combat Medic style, and Faerie Healer style. Right now the identity is strange to me, so expand on them to flesh out the best for personal customization. A combat healer who specializes in the tactical, timed buffed, harder heals with weaker shields, a sort of backwards Haima being reactive heals for each hit on one character with a shield at the end. Or a Faerie healer, similar in motif to the Aristotle job from Harvestella. A constant faerie companion that is the weapon itself, rotate between Selene and Eos and Seraph for battle buffs and debuffs, healing, regen and shields, and large burst heals respectively.

  8. I think a staff weapon could be cool. No, not a magic staff that Black Mages and White Mages use, I mean a Bo Staff, bonking enemies with a really big stick like Donatello fromTMNT.

  9. For me. I'd like to see a mix of buccaneer/swashbuckler or pirate class for scouting. We already somewhat a buccanneer class in limsa. This class has a ranged and melee style somewhat like red mage. And finally i hope they incorporate offhand weapons again.

  10. I do think scouting is the most likely, as their reasoning for rpr being maiming was cause we only had one in that armour type… And a magic user is also right up there as we haven't had one in a bit… I don't think tank will happen, as they seem to struggle on identity there… Just look at the gameplay loop of drk and war… And we just got a healer.

  12. First of all, I never would have guessed that you’re a DRK main.

Secondly, I think this is a brilliant idea. I haven’t mastered every job yet, but I’ve settled on DNC mainly because of how “swishy” the moves are. In other games such as Elden Ring and Juggernaut, I’ve always chosen the twin blades as my main. And while Darth Maul is cool, he’s not what I think about when I think of twin blades.

Scribe, please grab Yoshi P at the con and beg him to add twin blades. I can’t picture it being a tank, but definitely melee dps
