He is summoned completely accidentally, and under his own power, as three treasures—a mirror, a jewel, and his sword, all believed to harbor powerful kami by the Kojin—are brought together. Fittingly, he is a primal aspected to both water and lightning, and in the turning phase of his fight vanishes to incarnate himself as a massive, watery version of himself which must have its sword strikes deflected.
